WELCOME TO HSC SUMMER CAMPS! I am so excited to welcome both our returning campers and new participants to the HSC Camp Community for the 2026 season! At HSC Camps, our mission is to empower young people to explore their interests, take on challenges, and continue to grow through meaningful, hands-on camp experiences. I know first-hand the profound positive impact camp has on young people; having spent countless summers at camp myself, and the last 17 years working and managing recreational programs. I am grateful to be able to provide opportunities for our community to experience that same camp magic. HSC Camps intentionally offer a wide array of program options, designed to give every camper, from our youngest explorers to our aspiring young leaders, a chance to find their niche. 2026 POLICIES CAMP CODE OF CONDUCT HSC Camp programs are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive and fun environment for all. Everyone in our camp community is expected to demonstrate respect for each other’s safety, respect for others’ feelings, and respect for the property and programs of HSC Camps. Staff will make every effort to encourage positive behaviour and communicate expectations. In the event of continued unsafe or inappropriate behaviour, HSC Camps reserves the right to remove campers from HSC Camps without a refund. Unsafe and inappropriate behaviour includes but is not limited to: » » » » »

Endangering the health and safety of oneself or others Leaving camp program space without permission, hiding, or refusing to follow the directions of staff Intentional destruction or misuse of camp property, equipment or others’ belongings Offensive, rude or inappropriate language or actions Ongoing disruptive behaviour, which impacts the safety and experience of self or others

Please note: HSC Summer Camps does not offer one-to-one camper support. Thank you for helping us keep our camps safe.

PICKUP POLICY When registering your camper, you will be prompted to complete the Authorized Pick-up section. For the safety of your child, only those who are listed on the Authorized Pick-up List are permitted to pick up your child. You can log into your CampBrain account at any time to make updates to this list. Photo ID will be required and checked each day. SELF-SIGNOUT POLICY Campers aged 11 and up can self-sign out if permission was given on the registration form. Campers under the age of 11, or for whom permission to self-sign out was not given, must be picked up by someone on their authorized pickup list.

ABSENCES If a camper is unable to attend, we appreciate as much notice as possible! Please call (905) 389-1367 or email camps@hsc.on.ca during camp hours (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday). Refunds or credits are not available for missed days. CAMPER HEALTH & ILLNESS If a camper is absent due to illness, injury, or mental health concerns, parents/guardians are asked to contact the Camps team in writing at camps@hsc.on.ca and report the absence as a “health-related absence.” In an effort to keep our campers healthy and reduce the spread of illnesses such as the common cold, influenza, and viral gastrointestinal infections, we encourage parents/guardians to closely monitor their children’s health and keep their child home when they are ill. The following are common instances of when campers should stay home. Please review the following guidelines to help us maintain a healthy community. Fever Campers with a temperature of 100 degrees F (37.8 degrees C) or higher should stay home and wait until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medications. Medications may help reduce fevers; however, this does not mean the camper is not contagious. Therefore, it is very important that parents/ guardians adhere to this guideline. Vomiting/diarrhea Both vomiting and diarrhea can be signs of a viral gastrointestinal infection, commonly referred to as “stomach flu,” which can be easily spread through contact with infected individuals and contaminated surfaces. Campers experiencing vomiting and diarrhea should stay home for 48 hours after their symptoms have started to improve or have resolved. Respiratory Illness (i.e. Common Cold, Influenza & COVID-19) For most individuals, respiratory illnesses usually present with mild symptoms; however, they can lead to serious complications. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing signs or symptoms of respiratory illness, such as excessive coughing, sore throat, difficulty breathing, nasal discharge/congestion, irritability or

fatigue. Campers can attend camp when their symptoms have been improving for a minimum of 24 hours, they are well enough to participate in activities and have been fever-free without the use of medication for 24 hours. Strep Throat/Conjunctivitis If your doctor has prescribed antibiotics for a bacterial infection, such as strep throat or conjunctivitis, campers can return to school after they have completed 24 hours of treatment and are feeling well enough to return. New/Unexplained Rash As a new, unexplained rash may indicate a potential communicable illness, we request that any camper presenting with an undiagnosed rash be picked up from camp for medical assessment. A clearance note from a third-party physician will be required prior to the campers’ return to campus. Once medically cleared, the camper may return to camp even if the rash is still present. PAYMENTS Payment is due in full at the time of registration by credit card. Please note that we are unable to accept American Express. CANCELLATION POLICY Revised Nov 2025 All requests to cancel your registration must be submitted in writing to camps@hsc.on.ca at least 21 days prior to the registered start date. All cancellations are subject to a $35 administrative fee, per camper, per week. Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 21 days of the registered start date. HSC reserves the right to limit enrollment and adjust counsellor assignments as necessary. Additionally, HSC may combine or cancel camps due to insufficient enrollment, instructor unavailability, or facility constraints. While we strive to accommodate demand, additional sessions cannot be guaranteed once capacity is reached. We strongly encourage early registration to secure a spot. In the event that HSC cancels a camp, notification will be provided at least one week before the scheduled start date. In such cases, all fees for the cancelled camp/ session will be fully refunded, or an alternative camp will be offered wherever possible.
