Spiritual

Life Groups: P-12 with an intentional structure of being horizontal in Prep-4 and vertical in Years 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12 Gatherings: Our chapel services in Prep-4, 5-8, 9-12 Christian Living: A dedicated age-appropriate program run from Prep-12

Mission and Service Opportunities: Mission trips and service did not run in 2021 due to COVID.

Academic

Pedagogy: Age-appropriate Phases of Learning – ELC, JLC, MLC, SLC. Focused Elements of Learning targeting Personal Interests and Strengths, Social and Emotional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy, SECRET Skills, Entrepreneurial Skills. Individualised Learning: Including Gifted and Talented programs and Learning Support.

Cocurricular: Reader’s Cup, A.B. Paterson Public Speaking, ICAS, Math’s Olympiads, World Scholar’s Cup, Chess, eSports, My Kitchen Rules, IT Maker’s Corner: 3D Printing, Robotics.

Social

Life Skills Program: Differentiated programs P-12 including, but not limited to – SECRET Skills, Mentoring and Leadership Programs, Student-driven Pathways counselling. Community Engagement: Community Service, Community Fundraising and special events.

Community Expectations: A culture fostering values-based expectations outworking Student Recognition and Awards, Student Leadership and College behavioural expectations with a zero tolerance for bullying and the consequences for anti-cultural behaviour.

Emotional

SECRET Skills: Introduction in JLC and used through to SLC.

Community Partnerships: School TV, RightNow Media. Social and Emotional Program Development: The development of age-appropriate programs run from P-12 underpinned by student agency.

Physical

Sports Programs: Sports Excellence Programs in Basketball, Futsal, Netball and Soccer, District, Regional, State and National Sporting Competitions, Cross Country, Swimming and Athletics Carnivals, Sports Development, Inter-School Sport, Health and Physical Education Curriculum.

Cocurricular: Flame, Sparks, Explosions, Performing Arts, Sport and Academic opportunities.

The Arts: College Musical, Choirs, Dance Academy, Concert Bands, String Orchestra, Specialised Ensembles, Stage Bands, Film and TV, Photography, Dance Groups, Drama Groups.

Outdoor Education: Year Level Camps, House Camps, Duke of Edinburgh, Kokoda Challenge, Mountain Biking, Surfing.

Culture And Wellbeing

Hillcrest Christian College has a dedicated Culture and Wellbeing Team who support the alignment of Pastoral Care Programs across the College. The College recognises that wellbeing encompasses the spiritual, social, emotional, academic and physical components of an individual and that there is a collective impact of an individual's wellbeing on the Hillcrest Christian College's organisational wellbeing and social climate.

The College has a Zero tolerance for bullying or harassment. We have a P-12 Community Expectations Framework, built on the College Values, which supports this.

Student Satisfaction

The MMG Education school survey noted that Student expectations were met or exceeded in relation to the following areas: of teaching 86% education 88% College’s values 92% standards 93% Focus on Pastoral Care 85%

MMG Educational School Survey is bi-annual and due in 2022. Survey results from 2020 have been published.
