- Glissandi lengths are indicated by note values. Slurs indicate that the arrival pitch should not be articulated; an absence of a slur indicates that the arrival pitch should be articulated. (This applies to pizzicato passages as well.)

- Harmonica chords don't necessarily need to be exact; neighboring tones from the chord are welcome if they appear. For individual notes (such as the sustained G in m. 120), please isolate these tones.

- The recommended slide whistle is the American Song Whistle manufactured by AP&M Co.
