J4 Sustainability Social Event

Junior 4 hosted a ‘Sustainability Social’ event for their families in April.

Pupils put on an assembly about ‘Protecting the Planet’, while families visited their exhibition, showcasing eyecatching displays, letters, posters and infographics on issues including plastic pollution, food miles and sustainable fashion. Guests visited the ‘Forest of Promises’, where they had the opportunity to make a commitment towards positive change for the future of our planet.

Well done to all in Junior 4 on an inspirational and informative day, helping us to learn more about ways in which we can all do our part to protect planet Earth!

Coronation Treat!

High School pupils marked the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla in May.

Junior School pupils joined in with the national celebrations by donning their crowns for the King and Queen. They had great fun as they enjoyed the chance to dress up in their finest party clothes for a tasty Coronation Lunch and special assembly.

School Captain, Ritvik (pictured below) delivered one of the readings at Glasgow’s Coronation Service of Thanksgiving, taking place at Glasgow Cathedral on Sunday 7th May, a tremendous honour for both Ritvik and the School.

Raasay Newlands

HSOG Pupils Become Outdoor Adventurers

Junior and Senior pupils have embraced the great outdoors this Spring.

Junior 6 pupils had an unforgettable time at Newlands Adventure Centre at the beginning of Mayfrom hill walking and kayaking, to scrambling through rivers and zip-lining through the trees - what an adventure and a memorable way in which to sign off their time at Ledcameroch Road!

Later in May, nearly 100 S1 pupils travelled to Raasay as part of the Senior School’s Activities Week. Pupils had a brilliant time as they challenged themselves with a number of thrilling outdoor pursuits, culminating in a challenging ascent to the peak of Dùn Caan, the highest point on the Isle of Raasay. Make sure you are following our various social media channels to keep abreast of incredible trips and to experience the joy of learning at HSOG!
