Introducing Birrarung Council’s New Digital Technology Space: A Guide For Teachers and Carers
Birrarung DigiSpace
Birrarung Council’s DigiSpace provides a new and exciting opportunity for learning and exploring the world of digital media. Located in Birrarung Library, our new DigiSpace provides young people in our community with access to a range of technology and software which allow them to explore their learning. With dedicated DigiSpace staff and mentors, we encourage educators to enquire about using this space in teaching Media Arts.
What’s On Offer
Both our learning spaces and technology offerings at Birrarung Library are free to hire, all you need is a library card.
Whether you know a budding filmmaker, a keen photographer or a zine fanatic, the DigiSpace provides young people with a place to explore a range of media formats and to interact with likeminded individuals.
For schools, we encourage you to utilise our spaces and technology in teaching Media Arts to familiarise students with our facilities which they can continue to access both within and beyond their education.

Why the DigiSpace?
The Birrarung DigiSpace aims to provide access to media-making resources for young people to explore their interests and make connections in their local communities.
We aim to facilitate events which celebrate the achievements and creations of young people living within our local council.
With spaces avaliable to hire, we encourage teachers to situate their classrooms among our facilities and encourage students to consider how what they create can bring value to their local communities.
