OPENING CONVOCATION

This is a long-standing tradition at High Point University that brings together faculty and administration to welcome new students and to set the stage for their education at High Point University. The ceremony begins with the procession of faculty in their academic regalia. Comments will be made by the Provost and the President of the Student Government Association. The keynote address will be given by the University President, Dr. Nido Qubein. With the Opening Convocation ceremony, the incoming class begins an exciting educational venture—a learning process that occurs in and beyond the classroom—culminating in the completion of degree requirements and the traditional Commencement ceremony. Students will also recite and sign the High Point University Honor

The following attire guidelines are provided for your convenience. Dresses, dress pants, collared shirts, slacks, khakis and dress shoes are appropriate. Jeans, flip-flops and tennis shoes are prohibited.

THIS CONCLUDES THE FAMILY PORTION OF HPU’S WELCOME WEEK
