The Application Process While all students admitted to High Point University are considered for merit scholarships based on academic credentials, there are specific steps that must be taken to be considered for need-based assistance. Steps include: • Receive admission to High Point University. • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa as soon as possible beginning October of the student’s senior year. Please remember that you must include our school code (002933) in the release section in order for the Student Financial Planning Office to receive your results. The filing of the FAFSA is an electronic process and requires a FSA ID to both log in and sign the official document. Both the student and the parent will need to obtain FSA IDs by going to studentaid.gov/fsa-id/sign-in/landing. HPU must have your Social Security number on file to be able to receive your FAFSA for processing. If you did not include this number in your admissions application, please reach out to your Admissions Counselor to add your SSN to your account. You can confirm if HPU has your SSN on your PantherPage.
How Financial Aid Packages Are Calculated If you apply for financial aid consideration and qualify, your aid package at High Point University will be calculated on the basis of eligibility and academic credentials. Eligibility is the difference between the cost to attend and level of financial need based on calculated Student Aid Index (SAI) from the FAFSA. Your family’s contribution is based on factors such as family size, parental income and assets, and student income and assets. The results of your FAFSA should be received by the Student Financial Planning Office within ten business days from the date of filing. If there are any outstanding requirements, students will be notified via mail and email. Once any issues are resolved and all merit decisions have been made by the Office of Admissions, then your Student Financial Planning Counselor will proceed with assembling your financial aid package. Financial aid offers will be emailed directly to the student and will include any merit scholarships, need-based grants, federal loans, work study awards and state programs for North Carolina students. Once offers are sent, students and parents can access the most up-to-date package on their PantherPage. Availability of funds at the time the completed file is reviewed will impact the total aid offered. It is important to file early to avoid funds being depleted.

Types of Financial Assistance Available Below are brief descriptions of aid programs that may be available to attend High Point University. These programs are divided into two general categories: gift aid and self-help. Gift aid comes in the form of scholarships or grants for which no repayment is required. Self-help programs come in the form of loans or work programs. Loans enter their grace period or repayment as applicable after graduation or the termination of your studies. Work programs provide students with the opportunity to obtain an on-campus job to assist with educational costs.
Academic Scholarships
State Grants
Every student who applies and is accepted for admission will be considered for academic or merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are generally renewable annually provided the student maintains a designated minimum cumulative grade point average.
North Carolina students who file the FAFSA will be considered for the NC Need-Based Scholarship. For ’25-’26, figures ranged from $5,000 to $9,920 per year for full-time students. To be considered for state funding, students must verify their North Carolina residency status at www.ncresidency.org within 45 days of the start of the academic term.
Incoming students with extraordinary aptitude and academic achievement may also be invited to attend a Presidential Scholarship Weekend where they may increase their academic scholarship. Students will receive an invitation to attend these scholar events and must RSVP to confirm their attendance.
Student Loans
Academic scholarships are intended for the use of students attending High Point University. Financial aid eligibility, gender, race and religion are not factors in the selection process for academic scholarships; however, to be considered for a Presidential Level scholarship, you must submit your application for admission to High Point University and your high school transcript by the early action deadline, November 15, for priority consideration and by February 1, for general consideration. For the 2026 year, High Point University will not require standardized test scores for Presidential Scholarship consideration. If students choose to share them, we will consider them as a part of scholarship packaging. Additional scholarship details can be found on page 13 of this brochure.
The U.S. Federal Government offers two versions of the Federal Direct Loan. The Direct Subsidized Loan is need-based with the interest being paid by the government while the principal is deferred as long as the student is enrolled at least part-time. The Direct Unsubsidized Loan is not based on need and while the principal is also deferred, interest starts accruing once the loan disburses to the student’s account. Repayment on these two programs begins six months after graduation or when the student drops below parttime. The student has up to ten years to repay these loans. The current interest rate on both the Direct Subsidized and the Direct Unsubsidized loans is 6.53%. There is also a loan fee that comes off the top of each loan disbursed, the rate was 1.057% for loans disbursed before 10/1/2025. Both interest rates and loan fees are subject to change annually. Institutional Need-Based Grants
Parent Loans
High Point University offers need-based grants based on eligibility produced from filing the FAFSA, the student’s academic profile and the amount of other institutional, federal, state or outside scholarships and grants awarded to students. Funds are limited, so it is important to file as early as possible.
Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) are loans for credit-worthy parents that do not have a financial need requirement. The amount that parents may borrow is based on the cost of education minus any other aid that a student may be receiving; therefore, parents may use this loan program to fund the full cost of education unmet by other financial aid programs. PLUS loans carry a current interest rate of 9.08%. There is also a loan fee that comes off the top of each loan disbursed, the rate was 4.228% for loans disbursed before 10/1/2025. Both interest rates and loan fees are subject to change annually. You can view the most current information at studentaid.gov/sa/types/loans/interest-rates.
Federal Grants Federal grants include the Pell Grant, ’25-’26 figures ranged from $740 to $7,395 per year for full time students and the Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG), which ranges from $500 to $1,000 per year. Both of these federal grant programs are based on need and the results from filing the FAFSA.

Work Programs HPU offers thousands of students the opportunity to take part in the Student Employment Program (SEP). The SEP is an experiential learning program designed to develop our students for their future professional endeavors. All job opportunities within the program are strictly on-campus positions. Students can work a maximum of 20 hours per week, and each position held is considered a paid position. Federal Work-Study provides opportunities for students who qualify for financial aid and must earn a portion of their educational expenses. The program is a need-based program and funding is very limited. Priority is given to students who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant program. The Federal Work-Study award is set by the Office of Student Financial Planning. The opportunity to apply to on-campus positions is available for all students regardless of a Federal Work Study award. Student employment is considered part-time/temporary university employment, therefore it is important to note that any student who is considering working on campus must complete required federal and state tax forms prior to working. Students participating in the SEP must complete the Form I-9. The Form I-9 requires all employees regardless of status to present authentic, original, unexpired documents proving identity and employment authorization. THE COST TO ATTEND The cost to attend a college is the amount your family will pay after all financial aid and scholarships have been applied to our overall price. The amount of financial aid you might qualify for depends on many factors. Some factors for aid eligibility include academic achievement and results from the filing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In addition, the amount you receive from one school could vary significantly from another school based on selectivity, the availability of funds and the applicant pool. Every institution has its own way of calculating aid, which means your bottom line will vary depending on which school you attend. It is also important for you to remember that while financial aid can be a critical factor in deciding which school to attend, it is only one of many factors that should be considered in selecting the right educational environment that will best prepare you for success in a very competitive market place. At High Point University, we believe that a quality education is one of the most important investments that you can make, and we believe that the value of your investment at HPU is one that will positively benefit you for the rest of your life.

Office of Student Accounts The Office of Student Financial Planning works closely with our Office of Student Accounts to ensure all necessary aid our students are packaged with is reflected properly. The following items available through our Student Accounts Office will further assist our students and their families to manage their financial account.

Payment Options
Once students are assigned an HPU username and password, they can access the Student Account Center via their my.highpoint.edu page. Once logged in, students are able to view account activity, print statements, enroll in a payment plan, select a refund option and authorize users to also access their account information on the Student Account Center.
Statements are available online through the Student Account Center and mailed home to all enrolled students approximately a month before the due dates each semester. Payment deadlines for 2026-2027 are: • June 30, 2026 for the fall 2026 Semester • December 7, 2026 for the spring 2027 Semester Students have the choice of paying the entire balance by the semester due date in person, by mail or online. Or, students can choose to enroll in a monthly payment plan available through the Student Accounts Center portal. This option requires a $55 enrollment fee each semester and allows for payment in four or five monthly installments for each semester.
PROTECTING YOUR HEALTH & INVESTMENT Student Health Insurance
Tuition Protection Plan
All HPU full-time undergraduate students are required to have health insurance coverage and are charged automatically for the university’s sponsored insurance. Students that have a comparable health coverage plan MUST complete the required insurance waiver online each year in order to remove coverage and charges from their student account by the start of the fall semester. Students that wish to purchase the HPU coverage should log in and ACCEPT the insurance in order to begin enrollment in the policy. A link to opt in to or waive the health insurance will be available on the Student Accounts homepage.
Tuition Protection can help protect your substantial investment in your education should you be unable to complete the term due to a documented medical reason. The Tuition Protection Plan dramatically enhances the university refund schedule and provides more generous refunds throughout the entire term. All HPU undergraduate students are automatically enrolled and are charged for the plan. Students MUST complete the waiver online if they do not want this insurance in order to remove coverage and charges from their student account by the end of August. Subject to the program terms and conditions, if a student withdraws from classes or takes a leave of absence because of a personal injury, sickness or mental health condition, this Plan will return up to 75% of their insured term tuition and fees.* *Term tuition and fees does not include optional programs, course fees, and certain housing accommodations. Freshman Housing There is no bad place to live at High Point University! Beginning with our standard rooms at the Tier 1 level to our Tier 5 freshman housing options... all the way to our Tier 7 tiny home living for upperclassmen, every space becomes your home away from home and provides a unique living environment for your time at HPU. $ TIER 1: Double occupancy room in Belk, Finch, McEwen, Millis, North, Wesley and Yadkin residence halls. $$ TIER 2*: Three or four bedroom suites in Blessing, single room in Finch and McEwen, and a double occupancy room in University Center-2, R.G. Wanek Center and Wilson Hall.

University Meal Plans The university dining plan is provided for all residential students and the cost is included as part of your housing/dining fee. Students are automatically enrolled in the 14 meals per week dining plan. Students are allowed three weeks to make dining plan changes on their account starting one week prior to the start of the semester from their my.highpoint.edu page. •

No matter which you choose, each plans includes seven (7) weekly magic meals. A magic meal is typically an entree, side, and drink from any of our restaurants, coffee shops, or markets on campus. The balance of your meals would be used at our four global dining locations. Students who elect the 19-meal per week plan have the option to add 2 additional meals to get 21 per week at an additional costs. Tuition-Free Master’s Degree One way HPU commits to incoming freshmen’s success beyond just four years is through Tuition-Free Master’s Degrees. After students have completed their undergraduate degree at HPU, they’ll have two options: 1. Earn a tuition-free master’s degree (a $40,000-$80,000 value) when you live on campus. 2. Pay only 50% tuition when you live anywhere and complete your degree online (a $20,000-$40,000 value). Students have 10 master’s degree programs to choose from. Personal Success Coaches Mentorship matters at HPU. Every freshman is paired with a personal Success Coach, a professional staff member who offers guidance, wise counsel and encouragement. Success Coaches provide academic and transitional support to first-year students applicable to all aspects of the student’s life tasks: academic, personal, social and career. They help students plan their class schedule, offer support for adjusting to college life and help them find their niche on campus - through clubs, sports or other activities. Success Coaches are your guide through your transitional journey into college life. They will help you identify the best major for you, construct a path to achieve your goals and lend academic support when needed. They also act as a university liaison, helping students make connections with faculty, staff and offices on campus.

Concierge Services: Five-Star Support High Point University’s Campus Concierge is a one-stop resource that connects students and parents with the information, services, and support they need throughout the college experience. Concierge is also part of HPU’s Student Employment Program, where student staff learn professional communication, problem-solving and service-oriented skills that are valuable in any career. Honors Scholar Program $3,000 awarded annually Students in the Honors Scholar Program receive a $3,000 scholarship in addition to any High Point University scholarship. The award is automatically renewable for all four years as long as students remain in good standing in the Honors Scholars Program. Students can apply for these opportunities by logging into their PantherPage at www.highpoint.edu/pantherpage.
International Scholarships International students with a 3.0 unweighted or higher GPA (when converted to a 4.0 American scale) will qualify for a minimum of $5,000 per year in merit scholarship (up to $20,000 over four years). Students who submit SAT or ACT scores may be considered for higher awards.
Diversity Scholarships* For seven incoming students each year, High Point University offers our Diversity Opportunity Scholarship. These awards provide full-tuition, fees, and a book allowance to allow students to enroll at the university regardless of background.
Bonner Leader* $10,000 over four years The High Point University Bonner Leader Program seeks to transform the lives of students as well as their campuses, local communities, and nation by providing access to education and opportunities to serve.

ROTC Scholarships
$3,000 awarded annually Each student who is accepted and who chooses to enroll into any Fellows program is awarded an additional $3,000 per year merit scholarship. Students can apply for these opportunities by logging into their PantherPage at www.highpoint.edu/pantherpage.
ROTC Housing Scholarships
Business Fellows: For students majoring in accounting, business
administration, entrepreneurship, finance, international business, marketing or sales.
Communication Fellows: For students majoring in event
management, game and interactive media design, journalism, media production, sport communication or strategic communication.
Creative Arts Fellowship: For students majoring in art, creative writing, dance, fashion merchandising, graphic design, interior design, music or theater.
Education Fellows: For students who declare a major or licensure area in the Stout School of Education and have a passion for education.
Health Science Fellowship: For students majoring in exercise
science or health and wellness seeking an opportunity to participate in a progressive, four-year program within the field of exercise science and human movement that will develop their academic, professional and personal skill sets.
Natural Sciences Fellows: For students majoring in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, neuroscience or physics.
Siegfried Leadership Fellows: For students in any major who desire
to grow as a leader regardless of their area of academic study. HPU’s Siegfried Leadership Fellows program will challenge you to make a lasting contribution to our global community by equipping you with the tools and intellectual know-how to be a leader in not only today’s but also tomorrow’s ever-changing marketplace.
The U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force award three or four-year ROTC scholarships, which covers up to the cost of tuition and fees. ROTC Cadets that receive a full tuition and fees scholarship through the ROTC program may be eligible for this scholarship, which will provide additional funding up to the cost of Tier 1 housing and meal plan minus all other gift aid the student receives for the Fall and/or Spring term(s). To be eligible for this scholarship a student must have a completed FAFSA. Email finplan@highpoint.edu to request the scholarship application.

Leading and Inspiring Female Trailblazers: The L.I.F.T. program
provides networking, leadership development, mentorship and coaching for female students interested in becoming CEOs, leaders, entrepreneurs, executives and trailblazers in their chosen careers.
Amounts vary Athletics scholarships are provided by the High Point University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to recruited student-athletes in all varsity sports in compliance with NCAA Division I regulations and guidelines.

Helpful Tips & Reminders: • Due to limitations on funding, please file your FAFSA as soon as possible beginning October of senior year, but before March 1st at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. • High Point University’s FAFSA Title IV school code is 002933. • Financial aid packages will only be official once the previous year’s taxes have been filed with the IRS, an updated FAFSA has been submitted and any required documents have been received by the Student Financial Planning Office. • No official financial aid offer or indication of eligibility will be issued until you have been officially accepted to High Point University.

• Financial aid offered by or administered through High Point University will be credited to your account, half in the fall term and half in the spring term. The only exception is the student work programs, for which you receive payment for actual hours worked each pay period.

• Aid programs are packaged for a full academic year but distributed equally on a semester basis. Students who attend less than a full academic year cannot receive the full year’s aid in one semester.
• Make personal copies of all of the forms that you submit to stay organized. Deadline dates are important to avoid missing out on available opportunities.
• Student must be full-time (12 credit hours or more) to receive institutional funding. • Many financial aid programs are renewable annually based on academic achievement or participation in a scholarship

Timeline Checklist to Successfully Financing Your HPU Education: October through February: File your FAFSA If there are any issues identified, work to have them resolved as quickly as possible. Search and apply for external scholarship opportunities: https://www.highpoint.edu/ financialplanning/assistanceprograms/
March: New students can expect to receive their Financial Aid Offer Letter by the middle of the month
April and May: Get any of your loans situated in time to receive your bill. For new students: This includes completing entrance loan counseling, the master promissory note, annual loan acknowledgement and submitting your completed Federal Loan Form to the University. For parents: This could include applying for the parent PLUS loan (usually opens in mid April). For any family members looking to help: This could include applying for private school loans.
May: Grant/update authorization to parents and other family members. Authorization access to the Student Account Center will allow others to be able to view statements or account activity and to enroll in a payment plan. Complete and submit the Consent for Access to Academic Records (FERPA) form. This gives University officials the ability to discuss your academic and/or financial record with individuals other then yourself on your behalf. Enroll in a payment plan for the fall semester.
June through August: Waive or enroll in Student Health Insurance. Waive Tuition Protection Insurance if desired.
June: Fall invoices are available online (through the Student Account Center) and mailed home. Fall payment is due by the end of the month.
July and August: North Carolina residents must complete the residency verification online at: www.ncresidency.org. Make any changes to your Dining Plan. Refund Enrollment – select a refund option through the Student Account Center should any funds need to be returned to you.
