HIGH POINT PARENTS MAKE AN IMPACT Dear Fellow HPU Families: We are proud that our three children — Katelyn ’16, ’18 (MA), Emily ’18 and Will ’19 — have chosen to call High Point University home. A third generation alumni family, we have been blessed to see the value of an HPU education first hand. As parents, we want nothing more than for our children to find happiness, success and fulfillment during their lives. This is especially true as they take on rigorous academic programs on the journey to identify their career passions. The extraordinary opportunities afforded our children, like all students at HPU, have allowed them to explore, grow and pursue their dreams for the future.

Status: Class of 2017 Major: Communication Hometown: Queens, NY Post-graduation plans: Sports and Entertainment Industry Internship: New York Mets (New York) “The communication professors are highly experienced in the industry and unselfishly provide insight helpful to addressing practical challenges and developing meaningful solutions. Dr. Bobby Hayes’ rigorous copy editing class was especially beneficial in helping me improve my writing technique. I’m grateful for HPU’s commitment to developing students in all areas of life.”

CLAIRE LENNON

Status: Class of 2016 Major: B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Criminal Justice Hometown: Springfield, VA Post-graduation plans: Background Investigator, CACI International (Washington, DC) “HPU gave me all of the resources I needed to succeed. I was constantly surrounded by professionals eager to lend a hand or assist in any way possible. My professors looked at all of us as individuals with goals and ambitions and genuinely did all in their power to help us reach our potential. HPU provided me with a culture of success. Status: Class of 2016 Major: B.S. in Biology Hometown: Henderson, NC Post-graduation plans: Graduate School for Medical and Biology Illustration at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) “The staff in Career & Professional Development were really helpful when I was first making the decision to apply to medical illustration programs. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get all of the requirements in such a short time, so they helped by talking through some other options if I would have to wait a year and apply earlier, and they helped me with getting my resume updated.”

TYLER LEE

Status: Class of 2016 Major: B.A. in Strategic Communication and minor in Graphic Design Hometown: Westerville, OH Post-graduation plans: Junior Marketing Designer at Yext (New York, NY) “High Point helped me gain the skills and confidence to really go after whatever I set my mind to. I’ve grown so much and learned so many things, not just from my classes and teachers, but from organizations that I joined, speakers who came to campus, and living in an environment where you’re inspired to dream big.”
