Welcome to our joint bull sale with Czech-Mate Livestock. We are very proud of our longstanding friendship and relationship with Jim, Gwen, AJ and Andrew. Ultra is pleased to present nine partnership bulls with Hay Valley Ranches. We welcome back Black Chrome as our guest consignors, along with select commercial cattlemen that bring a group of impressive replacement heifers on offer from the heart of their herds.We would like to extend our thanks to YOU, our customers, for your loyalty and support over the years and look forward to visiting with you and celebrating your success.

2021 was a memorable year. We appreciate our customers for a tremendous bull sale in the spring. We had excellent success in the fall shows. The December female sales were incredible. We are thrilled to invite you to our 2022 Bull Sale at Innisfail Auction Mart on the 21st of February.We have assembled a powerful group of bulls to offer you. There is something for everyone this year. Whether it be a heifer bull or cow bull you’re looking for we have Polled or Horned Full Fleckvieh; Red; Red Blaze face; Black and Black Blaze faced bulls.

Included are also a few percentage bulls to pique your interest. We have been breeding Simmental cattle for over 20 years and each year we feel more excited about what the breed has accomplished. The cattle market is in high demand and we’re optimistic of a wet spring and for 2022 to be a prosperous year for all.

We truly believe the Simmental breed is in an exciting time and there are many amazing options and opportunities for bulls and we appreciate the interest in our program and breeding.

We also would like to extend our appreciation to our partners in this sale; the Chalack’s at Ultra Livestock Riley, Tim & Cathy. We appreciate our long relationship with them, both personally and professionally, and believe that our two programs have put together a great consignment of bulls for our 5th annual sale.

Our bull pen this year is one we are extremely proud of. All through the group of bulls we believe are the key pieces that breeders are looking for to enhance their own herds, and we think it is one of our strongest groups yet. There are bulls with the frame and length and power to increase weights and performance, bulls that will be usable on heifers and cows that will still add pounds to the scale, and all backed by the maternal strength and longevity we strive for in our own herd. The bulls were weaned at the end of August and have been hand bucket fed the Masterfeeds bull ration along with silage and choice hay. Soundness and athleticism are two things we strive for, and with that in mind they have been kept in a 12-acre pen that allows them to get out and move. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for updates & videos as we lead up to the sale.

We also welcome you to come tour them in person at any time, we are located just off Highway 2 between Red Deer & Calgary, just outside of Carstairs. The dams, and sisters kept in herd, are always available as well to look through and we would love to show you the maternal backing on the bulls. If you cannot make it prior to the sale we have complete confidence in the Bohrson Marketing team, and they are always available with their expertise and knowledge of the offering. Repeating her results, WJS Eliza 749E has produced some feature bulls in the pen. Last year her SVS Freedom Son highlighted our Fleckvieh division selling to Hairy Hill Cattle co. Eliza is a power cow with exceptional EPDs and continues to be one of the top donors for us and Canadian Donors. This year we have three full brothers sired by NAC Battle Cry 4F. 79J has a big, wide top, square hip and poker straight hair. His dam produced a real nice heifer her first year and is setting up to calve early January. She’s laying down a gorgous udder. TC 15F is a moderate framed cow sired by R Plus Blackedge, who was known for making high producing females. Once again, talking cow families that have had a large impact on our program is the “Cassie” cow family. They were big performance cows that worked hard and yielded high quality progeny. 79J is a strong testament of what this cow family is about, have a good look here as he is sure to impress. These two ET brothers both have good shape and size, great frame, are very athletic and will be able to cover your cows this spring. We have used Launch for a couple of years and really like what he produces, both bulls and heifers. These brothers come from one of our all time favorite cows, MFI 179R, a great Body Builder daughter from one of the best fullblood females of her day, Zaila 8Z. We have sold numerous bulls from her to commercial breeders and have only been fortunate enough to retain two daughters in the herd. Her females were always at the top of the pen and were selected for sales – most notably would be CMS Zaila 409B who sold to Randy Ward for $31,000.

We are no strangers to selling liner loads of steer calves and know first-hand what uniformity and pounds mean. The genetics we have carefully selected have been considered with both the purebred and commercial cattleman in mind. We are very selective and source top genetics, using an extensive A.I. program.
