Fifty supercar exotics and rare collectibles have joined an estimated 600 premium vehicles for the 13th annual Mecum Monterey 2022, including a 1,035-horsepower Heritage Graphite 2020 McLaren Speedtail; a 2014 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille Heritage Edition; one of just 23 factory 427 Competition Cobras produced; and two sports cars owned by the late Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker. Road art and automobilia will also be offered.
Mecum Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction company, returns to the Del Monte Golf Course at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa in Monterey, California, Aug. 18–20, for its annual Daytime Auction.
Gates open daily at 8 a.m., August 18 through 20. Vehicles begin selling daily at 10 a.m. Gates close one hour after the day’s final vehicle crosses the block. The Road Art sale takes place each day prior to the vehicles. (All times Pacific Daylight Time)
The Heritage Graphite 2020 McLaren Speedtail (Lot S51), No. 91 of 106 produced, is powered by a 4.0-liter M840T twin-turbocharged V-8 linked to a 7-speed Graziano dualclutch automatic transmission. And, the 2014 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille Heritage Edition (Lot S50) is one of just three produced honoring the Bugatti factory driver who won the 1937 and 1939 24 Hours of Le Mans. A number of collections will be offered, including the Classic Low Mileage, highlighted by a 1931 Cadillac 370A V-12 Fleetwood Sport Phaeton (Lot S32), an AACA Senior Grand National winner.
A one-of-63 2020 Lamborghini Aventador LP770-4 SVJ 63 Roadster (Lot S54) is also on the docket as well as an ACD Category No. 1 Certified Original 1929 Duesenberg Model J LaGrande Blind Quarter Brougham (Lot S29) and two Paul Walker–owned vehicles, a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (Lot S58) and a 2001 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R VSpec II (Lot S68.1)
Among the Road Art and automobilia to be offered on Saturday, August 20, is a Vintage Children’s Bugatti Carousel (Lot Z09) with eight cars resembling the Bugatti Type 44 built from 1927–1930.
For those unable to attend the auction in person, enhanced remote bidding options are available, including both online and telephone bidding. General admission tickets are available in advance online for $20 per person, per day, and for $30 at the door and online after Aug. 17; children 12 and younger receive complimentary admission.
