Our year 9 leaders were trained before half term and arrived with lots of games to play with the year 7 group on Tuesday. All games encouraged teamwork, team building and communication with other team members within the group.
Tuesday’s session was overseen by Coach, Max Marshall. Mrs Allen watched the group in action as the TAG Finals had been postponed.
Well done to the year 9 leaders Alex, Mason, Rhys, Ethan, Sophie and Harriett. The year 7 mixed group worked very well together during the afternoon. The Ortus group will meet again over the next month from 12.30 - 1.30pm every Tuesday.

SSP TAG Rugby postponed
The SSP TAG Rugby finals were postponed on Tuesday due to poor weather conditions and safety considerations regarding footwear. A new date will be announced and communicated in due course.

KS1 ball skills event

The key stage 1 ball skills event for 2022 ran on Thursday at Lumsdale. Highfields Sports Leadership Academy were delivering the activities for the young pupils from St Josephs, South Darley, Wessington, Lea, Darley Dale and Winster in the morning and St Giles, Tansley, Darley Churchtown, Elton and Castle View in the afternoon. The leaders delivered to a total of 230 pupils during the day - a huge well done to all! Pupils looked at the foundational activities - throwing, catching, striking, targets, shooting, dribbling and how to engage in a team.
