Mathematicians of the week
Each week I ask the Maths department to identify students they have been impressed with and each week the list gets longer! One family has three siblings that attend Highfields and all three have been identified separately by their maths teachers. How impressive is that! Is it you?

Dance
Mrs Hollinrake wanted to say a massive well done to the following year 9 dance students for constantly high standards of work! - Emily, Lauren, Megan, Sophia, Jasmine, Jessica, Emma, Georgia, Lydia and Connor.

A well done to the following year 8 dancers for the brilliant site specific dance videos: Harrison, Imogen, Sean, Charlie, Patrick, Louis, Daniel, Felix, Evelyn and Maya Rose.

Sociology
Mrs Serjeant wanted to put a shout out to the following year 12 sociology students for their detailed revision work – well done Imogen, Eve, Matt and Hannah for detailed and very useable notes.






English
Mrs Grainger and Mr Garth wanted to give shout outs for the following students:
Callum (9h3) did a really great storyboard for the poem 'Bayonet Charge' Niamh (9s3) wrote a really interesting piece on Ted Hughes and agriculture.
We've also had some fantastic poetry picture quizzes on all of the poems studied this half term. Some of them were very challenging! A special shout out to Jamie (9h4), Ewan (9h2), Mason (9h2), Ellie (9h2), Jasmine (9h2), Louisa (9s2) and Sam (9s2).
Business
Mrs Cruise, Mr Flett and Mr Lovatt wanted to congratulate the six year 13 business students who managed to complete their courses and receive their final grades - well done! All of the hard work and cake consumption has paid off.
Geography

Mrs Barker wanted to say a massive thank you to Miss Taylor who has worked some magic with Elisha in year 10 and between them they have produced some brilliant work. Well done to Izzy, Jeska (see inset), Ryan and the two George’s who have also produced some lovely work.
In anticipation of the TV enterprise (Now that's what I call bad weather or NTWICBW) we set year 7 a task to create some merchandise to accompany the show (to create a weatherthemed board game) ... we received some amazing pieces of work – see examples below from Pip (7CH) and Emily (7JST).


Mrs Bonner would like a shout out to the following geographers for all the work they have been submitting.
Year 7:
Lawrence, Noah, Nia, Joseph, Frankie, Tyler-Rose, Bill, Juliette, Poppy and Oliver for their creative weather games.
Jacob, Sergio, Thomas, Matteo, Olivia, Fleur, Layla, Riley, Lauren and Oliver for work on cloud seeding.
Plus a special mention and an R3 to Nicole who completed both pieces of work - amazing!
