Year 10 Health Day Charlotte (Year 10)

On Friday 6 March, year 10 had their ‘Health Day’. It was a fun and informative day where we took part in different activities run by members of school staff and different organisations such as Chesterfield College, Paul White and Kim Robinson`s School of Dance.

During the day, we were taught how to be safe, healthy and fit in our lives. We had the opportunity to do trampolining which was an enjoyable experience as well as a Zumba/fitness session that showed us different ways to keep fit (as well as the majority of the boys from my form deciding to sing along to “Cotton Eye Joe”!). The self-defence session showed us how to safely protect ourselves when feeling threatened or when being attacked. The session on drugs was very informative, teaching us how to be safe and sensible and we learnt the effects they can have on your body, your family and your friends. We were also taught about sexual health awareness which included talking about maintaining healthy relationships.

Overall, it was an entertaining day that made sure we have the skills and knowledge to be safe and healthy in our lives.

Y11 Drama Exam Performance Miss Bonsall

On Tuesday 10 March, 41 year 11 students completed their scripted performance exam for the visiting examiner. This was 20% of the course and counts towards their GCSE.

Students acted out two extracts from a play their group had been given based on their castability. They performed in front of an audience of year drama 10 students and their fellow classmates.

They were exceptional on the day, supported each other superbly and should be very proud of themselves.

World Book Day Miss Tatam

The PTFA and school libraries would like to send a huge thank you to anyone who participated in any way to World Book Day by dressing up, taking part in quizzes and/or making and buying cakes.

We managed to raise an amazing £917.14!

Some students (and staff) really went to town and came in some incredible costumes...
