Geology Rocks!

At the end of October our year 12 geology students took part in their first of many fieldwork visits. They visited a number of locations around Tideswell to investigate the igneous rocks of the area and their relationship with the surrounding limestone ‘country rock’.
This was their first opportunity to hone their fieldwork skills including field sketching, rock description and identification, using compasses for mapwork and of course how to wield a geological hammer! A great day was had by all. Rock on!
