Highfields School Governing Board 2021-22

Highfields School is fortunate in the kinds of people who have volunteered to become governors, each bringing a variety of skills and experience to support the school.

The composition of the governing board is split as follows. Each governor serves a four year term of office.

Highfields governing board has a strong focus on three core strategic functions: • ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction • holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its students, and the performance management of staff, and • overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

All governors are required to: • undertake appropriate induction training • prepare for and attend all meetings regularly • undertake further training to develop their skills
