We challenge and engage your children while addressing their fundamental development combining fitness, active engagement, and life skills. Young Engineers' Workshop Grades: PK4-K Time: 3:00-3:45 pm First Day: September 11th Last Day: November 27th Days of no class: October 9th, November 20th Price: $265 Location: Primary School Classroom Description: We have opened the Young Engineers Workshop for weeks of fun, creativity, and of course -engineering! This class has been designed specifically to help establish the necessary foundational information that defines engineering. Using the Engineering Design Process, the class will explore different types of engineering such as Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Marine, Mechanical, and more! With basic household and specialty supplies, the students will build projects that float, fly, zoom, buzz, and hopefully stand strong! Ballet, Jazz and Creative Movement Grades: PK3-K Time: 3:00-3:45 pm First Day: September 5th Last Day: November 28th Days of no class: October 10th, November 21st Price: $265 Location: Primary School Classroom Description: Miss Ayana’s Dance class will help young dancers learn primary terminology, and the basic foundations to begin ballet and jazz technique. Class includes a floor stretch, and across the floor steps and has more time built in for fun activities. This class will give students who have already taken Miss Ayana’s ballet class more time to explore their creative movement, with a focus on creative dance activities, like freeze dance, ribbons, animal action, and many new movement-based activities. Students will increase their musicality and movement while incorporating Dance steps and positions through imagery and creative dance activities.

Our multi-week program is ideal for all players from beginners to experienced junior golfers - and is designed to refine skill, achieve success, promote discovery through play, and provide a pathway to Keep Playing! ® Students progress at their own pace while learning and experiencing something new in each class.

Fashion Workshop - Sew Plush Grades: PK5-K Time: 3:00-3:45 pm First Day: September 5th Last Day: November 28th Days of no class: October 10th, November 21st Price: $395 Location: Primary School Classroom Description: Students will learn hand sewing while creating our fun Sweet Treats or dessert toys. Students will create a stuffed Watermelon Slice, Candy Pillow, Peppermint, Marshmallow stuffie, Ice cream, and cake pillow! We will turn each item into toys by adding wheels, faces, or squishy inside. This class introduces students to basic sewing techniques such as straight stitching, sewing curves, machine threading, hand stitching, and running stitch.

Our enrichment program combines athletics and life lessons while emphasizing safety, fitness, and fun. Certified coaches lead students through station-based drills and games that develop the fundamental skills of flag football with a strong focus on agility, footwork, and hand-eye coordination. These skills are essential to all sports and will help create a solid sports foundation while also teaching valuable life lessons including perseverance and sportsmanship. Our enrichment program combines athletics and life lessons to create a dynamic experience that emphasizes safety, fitness, and fun. Primary School Class Offerings Weird Nature Science Grades: PK3-K Time: 3:00-3:45 pm First Day: September 6th Last Day: November 29th Days of no class: November 22nd Price: $335 Location: Primary School Classroom Description: Have you ever wanted to be a scientist? Or to increase your understanding of the natural world? Well, you’re in luck! In this class, we’ll learn about physics and the natural world through fun, easy science experiments you can take home. We’ll learn about states of matter by building volcanos and sound by creating ‘naturally occurring’ speakers. Along the way, we’ll be taking our experiments outside to improve our school's environment by planting simple gardens and making bird feeders. It’s the perfect club if you love science, nature, engineering, or just making things blow up.

Primary School Class Offerings Thursday Classes Gymnastics Grades: PK3-K Time: 3:00-3:45 pm First Day: September 7th Last Day: November 30th Days of no class: November 23rd Price: $365 Location: Primary School Gym (BBAR) Description: The class is designed to teach flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness using gymnastics skills while building positive self-esteem in a relaxed, fun, yet challenging atmosphere. We offer a non-competitive program that builds gymnastics skills through progressions, implementing a variety of age-appropriate equipment and training aids as well. All Airborne instructors are USAG and safe sport certified. Skills taught include: Forward & Backward Rolls, Handstands, Cartwheels, Bridge Ups & Bridge Kickovers, Pullovers, leaps, jumps, hops, and walks on beams. Students will work on body control and will focus on building strength and flexibility, which is an important part of gymnastics.

Using age-appropriate lessons, our Soccer Shots lessons focus on new skill development along with character building to create the most fun soccer experience a child can ask for! Children will learn fundamental soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting, while also building on their character skills like teamwork, leadership, confidence, and more! Build engineer-designed projects and use special pieces to create your own unique designs! Monday Classes Kids TV Jr. Grades: 1st-2nd Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 11th Last Day: November 27th Days of no class: October 9th, November 20th Price: $270 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: During Kids TV Jr., students in Lower grades 1st - 2nd will learn the basics of camera and acting for the camera. Kids will practice camera foundations such as zoom, focus, wide shot, medium shot, and close-ups as well as practice how to perform key emotions and control over voice, body, and face in front of the camera. Then, the kids will work in groups to create 3 projects for the semester consisting of commercials, a talk show, and a silent movie.

Lower School Class Offerings Ultimate Ukulele Grades: 2nd-5th Time: 3:30-4:30 pm First Day: September 11th Last Day: November 27th Days of no class: October 9th, November 20th Price: $200 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: Join us for a luau of a semester learning the ukulele from scratch! Learn how to strum, play chords, and tune a ukulele with your friends! You will be provided with an instrument to use at school, but you may want to buy one to keep at home!

AI for Kids!

Grades: 3rd-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 11th Last Day: November 27th Days of no class: October 9th, November 20th Price: $295 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: Do you have a kid who is creative or interested in technology? Have you ever wanted to know about/know how to use AI? Well, you’re in luck, because this is the class for you! We’re now in a world where even very young students can use free-online AI tools to generate essays, stories, and even music, television, or games. In this new world, kids can cultivate their own creativity at young ages by doing projects like creating AI symphonies, working with partners and AI to create animated books, and generating AI animations. Along the way, they’ll gain access to a suite of tools that can help with homework in the future, build familiarity with the new AI world we’re moving into, and — importantly — understand when and when not to use this powerful new tool.

Lower School Class Offerings Girls' Flag Football Grades: 4th-5th Time: 3:30-4:30 pm First Day: September 11th Last Day: October 30th Days of no class: October 9th Price: $125 Location: Lower School Description: This flag football program will be non-competitive and will emphasize team building, sportsmanship, and having fun. Coach Umstead will help the children learn pass routes and certain techniques of the game. A game of flag football will be played each week. Open to girls with any level of experience!

Lower School Class Offerings Tuesday Classes Golden Bears Soccer Grades: 1st-5th Time: 3:30-4:30 pm First Day: September 5th Last Day: October 31st Days of no class: October 10th Price: $135 Location: Lower School Description: Open to boys and girls, the Golden Bears 1 through 5 grade Fall Soccer Clinic is a custom-built program that was developed by our HIES Upper School coaching staff. Their training goals will be to develop confident, creative, and skillful players. They will identify and train the most critical "moves and skills" needed to dominate 1v1 situations and help players build a deeper understanding of how to play the beautiful game of soccer.

Lower School Class Offerings STE(A)M Cuisine Grades: 2nd-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 5th Last Day: November 28th Days of no class: October 10th, November 21st Price: $345 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: Put on your lab coat because it’s time to blend Culinary Arts and STEM together! In this program, we will explore the science that happens in your kitchen every week. We will learn about tools used by cooks and chemists, acquire food preparation techniques, discover the origins of flavors you’ve come to love and so much more. Some of the exciting topics include: What is the Maillard Reaction? What causes popcorn to explode? What are ratios and how do they relate to baking? How does emulsification and suspension help us make salad dressing?

New Topics are covered each week throughout the school year.

Note: In some lessons, students will be exposed to, prepare, consume, or take home a variety of food items. We will inform you in advance of food items we will utilize each week. However, we are rarely able to make substitutions due to the chemistry-focused nature of the lessons. If your student or household has an allergy or dietary restriction, please let us know in advance.

Kids TV Grades: 3rd-5th Time: 3:45-5:15 pm First Day: September 5th Last Day: November 28th Days of no class: October 10th, November 21st Price: $340 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: During Kids TV Film and TV class, students learn professional camera, lighting, and production techniques from professional filmmakers as they work as a team to bring their story ideas to life. The students produce, film, star, and edit their own video projects.

Lower School Class Offerings Wednesday Classes Chess Grades: 1st-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 6th Last Day: November 29th Days of no class: November 22nd Price: $305 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: Come learn the game of royalty or enhance your skills if already a player. We teach beginners incrementally one piece at a time and challenge players with puzzles and exercises about openings, tactics, and endgame strategies. Chess has been played for thousands of years and is a game that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

Little Vet School Grades: 1st-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 6th Last Day: November 29th Days of no class: November 22nd Price: $395 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: Become a purr-fect veterinarian! Students will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and perform a whiskers-to-tail exam on their newly “adopted” plush cat. These future veterinarians will learn about animal body language, maintaining a healthy environment such as proper litterbox placement, creating a cat toy, designing a vet clinic, and much more!

Lower School Class Offerings Piano Lab Grades: 1st-3rd Time: 3:30-4:30 pm First Day: September 6th Last Day: November 29th Days of no class: November 22nd Price: $225 Location: Classroom Description: Learn how to play the piano! Taught by Mr. Bowen, our Upper and Middle School chorus teacher, students will learn how to play the piano through games, activities, and practice.

Recitals will be given at the end of each semester!

Sports Smorgasbord Grades: 1st-3rd Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 6th Last Day: November 29th Days of no class: November 22nd Price: $335 Location: Classroom/Outdoors Description: Let’s get active in after-school! In this class for kids, we’ll play a different, carefully chosen sport or active game every single session. Students will put their bodies in motion and release surplus energy in a way that will help them be more present during the school day and at home.

They’ll develop functional movement patterns that will make them more effective and boost their self-esteem for other sports. Along the way, they’ll practice teamwork, communication, and emotional self-regulation skills that will help them everywhere, not just on the field or court. It’s sure to be a great time!

Lower School Class Offerings Art with Ms. B! Grades: 2nd-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 6th Last Day: November 29th Days of no class: November 22nd Price: $295 Location: Lower School Art Room Description: Throughout this semester, we will get to extend our time together creating art outside the LS art classes. During each class we will spend time creating art and learning about the history behind the pieces we're making. We will have fun creating art with drawing, painting, ceramics, paper mache, oil pastels, watercolor, and mixed media.

Sideline Cheer with Ms. Hudson Grades: 4th-5th Time: 3:30-4:30 pm First Day: September 6th Last Day: November 29th Days of no class: November 22nd Price: $245 Location: Classroom Description: Students will learn the basics of sideline cheerleading with a focus on technique. Every class will include stretching, motion technique, jumps, chants, cheers, stunts, dance, and cheerspecific conditioning. The class will work towards a routine that will be performed on the last day of the session for parents. Having coached competitive cheerleading for over a decade I am excited to share my love of the sport. By focusing on building technique across these skills, these Golden Bears will be ready to carry their learnings to other teams and cheerleading opportunities!

Find the Wild with Blue Heron Nature Preserve Grades: 1st-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 7th Last Day: November 30th Days of no class: November 23rd Price: $350 Location: Classroom/Outdoors Description: Come explore your school's backyard with Blue Heron! A Blue Heron Educator will help your children uncover their own curiosities. By spending hands-on time in nature, children will learn to be more empathetic towards living things, as well as build their own scientific understanding of the natural world. Students will have an opportunity to use their STEAM skills to collaborate and problem-solve as they discover, observe and experiment in the outdoors!

Lower School Class Offerings Fashion Workshop - Sew Plush Grades: 1st-4th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 7th Last Day: November 30th Days of no class: November 23rd Price: $395 Location: Classroom Description: Students will create all things plush while learning to hand sew. We will create a Pretzel Pillow, Turtle Stuffed Toy, Owl shaped carrier, pencil pouch, character hat and other fun projects. All projects will have a soft or plush application. All students will learn the whip, running stitch and blanket stitches techniques. This is a great class to develop tenacity.

Robotics and Programming Grades: 3rd-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 7th Last Day: November 30th Days of no class: November 23rd Price: $370 Location: Classroom Description: Ever wanted to design, build and program your own robots? Well, here’s your chance! In this Specialized Program for Upper Elementary, students will gain invaluable experiences to boost their understanding of Robotics and software design and help them develop their ability to think abstractly, logically and analytically. Throughout the program, students will take on various projects to become familiar with a wide range of robotics topics such as: Scratch Programming, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Sensors, Coding, Design Principles and more!

Lower School Class Offerings Friday Classes Yoga Grades: 1st-5th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 8th Last Day: December 1st Days of no class: September 22nd, October 6th, November 17th, November 24th Price: $265 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: In this engaging class children will learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner, and group poses, lots of yoga games, breathing and basic anatomy. While improving strength, flexibility, and coordination, kids will practice how to focus and center themselves. Various breathing and visualization techniques will help teach effective ways to manage anxiety and reduce stress.

Song Writing Workshop Grades: 2nd-4th Time: 3:45-4:45 pm First Day: September 8th Last Day: December 1st Days of no class: September 22nd, October 6th, November 17th, November 24th Price: $395 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: Students will showcase their unique voice and perspective through the creation of original lyrics. We will meet weekly to explore the creative and technical aspects of Songwriting. This is a great class for students to learn creative writing skills, poetry, storytelling, self-expression, spelling, and confidence building. Children will learn how to record lyrics for memory keeping as we record to popular instrumentals. We will discuss vocal warmups and exercises for singing.

At the end of the semester students will have written an original song selection. A voice recorder will be provided to each student for use.

Lower School Class Offerings Money and Manners Matter (Etiquette) Grades: 2nd-4th Time: 3:45-4:45pm Dates of class: October 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10 *Half semester course Price: $160 Location: Lower School Classroom Description: Your child will learn social, leadership, dining and money skills to feel more comfortable and self-assured in social situations. This enjoyable and informative program includes role-playing exercises. Workbooks are included and can be kept as a reference. The Dave Ramsey money class includes a kit, Financial Peace, Jr., that will help your child learn how to give, save and spend. An optional graduation dinner will be offered after the class is completed so that your child can practice all of the social and dining skills he/she has learned.

Lower School Halloween Movie Night Grades: 1st-5th Time: 6:00-8:30pm Event Date: Friday, October 20th Price: $65 Location: Lower School Description: Join Mrs. Winter and friends for a Lower School movie night! We'll get into the Halloween spirit watching "Hocus Pocus" and playing games throughout the night! Come in your favorite Halloween wear or costume, and enjoy pizza and a movie with us!

Place the sorting hat upon your head and learn what house you belong to. Represent your house and take part in a cooking competition between the houses. The house with the most points will win the house cup!
