November is a big month around the page garden (a.k.a., Kids Directory’s home office). My teen turns 16. I celebrate a milestone birthday. And, we will soon gather with family for Thanksgiving dinner. The first Thanksgiving in 1621 was a celebration of the autumn harvest among the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag Indians. Individual colonies and states continued similar traditions for more than 200 years. Then, in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it a national holiday to be celebrated annually in November. Thanksgiving is near the top of my list of favorite holidays. I love intentionally taking stock of the blessings we have and spending time with family and friends. Many people use social media profiles to share a daily expression of gratitude in November. That’s a great exercise for us and our bigs and littles at the dinner table or in the car as we go about our daily routines. Here at the page garden, we are sincerely grateful for our thousands of readers and our advertisers, distribution locations, and community partners. As a business owner, I’m thankful for a supportive family and an incredible staff who make each issue of Kids Directory a joy to create and bring to you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
