Refrigerator Notes In this issue.. Features

2020 hasn’t been a simple year. As parents, grandparents, teachers and caregivers, we’ve had full plates of tough conversations among our circle of adults and with our kids. And, we shouldn’t underestimate the curiosity and awareness of our kids. They hear us. They talk to friends. They hear their friends’ parents. They hear the news. It’s been a time of introspection— for each of us to truly understand our values and perspectives—and to have age-appropriate conversations with our kids to help them understand the world around them. Sometimes it feels overwhelming, and maybe that a signal to us that we need to unplug, to get away from the rapid fire of information and technology. That’s a good lesson to model for our children as well. Helping them learn coping skills now will serve them well when they are adults and the world turns upside down. We wish you a happy Independence Day holiday. And, this month, as always, we wish you and your families good health, safety, and peace. |
