Refrigerator Notes In this issue.. Kids Eat Free (or almost free)........ 6, 8, 10 Birthday Party Guide........................12-19 June KIDS Calendar...........................20-21

Summer is always an exciting time. There’s so much to do. The temperatures are warm, and the sun shines until late in the evening. How do you fill your family’s summer? Are the kids off to summer school or a camp? Do they visit with extended family? Do you have a vacation planned? Do you also plan down time to do nothing? After the hustle and bustle of the regular school year for most students, wouldn’t it be nice to pack a picnic lunch (or supper) and head to the park or a shady tree in the backyard. When I was a kid, I looked forward to the summer reading program with the library. I loved to read, and summer was the perfect time to challenge myself to read as much as I could. Visit your local library branch and check out this year’s program. Yes, there are incentives to read, but the best incentive should be the pure joy of losing yourself in a book. If you’re planning a birthday party soon, this issue is for you with our second party guide of the year. The businesses appreciate knowing you found them through Kids Directory. There’s so much to do in the greater Springfield area. Have a great summer, and please be good to yourself. |
