My passion for chiropractic began when I had multiple injuries as a young runner and dancer. After seeing a chiropractor who introduced me to acupuncture, my interests quickly grew. Let’s Talk! About Women’s Health Did you know each year more than 88,000 women will be diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer? The five main types of gynecologic cancer are: cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulvar. Of all the gynecologic cancers, only cervical cancer has a screening test—the Pap test—that can find this cancer early, when treatment can be most effective.

Since there is no simple and reliable way to screen for any gynecologic cancers except cervical cancer, it is especially important to recognize warning signs, and learn if there are things you can do to reduce your risk.

Let’s Talk! About Signs & Symptoms Bloating, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, change in bowel habits, frequent urination, lower back pain and/or abdominal discomfort are all signs of the five gynecologic cancers. If one or more of these symptoms persist for two weeks call and schedule a visit with your doctor.

The annual exam and PAP test are tools used to detect cervical cancer, but without talking to your doctor about your personal symptoms and overall health, the other four main gynecologic cancers can go unnoticed. GYNCA is a one-of-a-kind organization in the United States in that we provide four key components inherent to the support and assistance of gynecologic cancer survivors, while other agencies may provide one or two of these programs. In many cases these programs are offered by area hospitals. Our organization brings all gynecologic cancer patients together, including their caregivers and families, no matter if they are seeing a local GYN Oncologist or traveling to larger cancer centers. GYNCA serves a 23 county region in Southwest Missouri.
