Fitness & Well-being
A&B Dance Center 471.881.0071 1740 S. Glenstone, Ste. C • Springfield abdancecenter.net Dance is fun, but it also is a great way to help your child stay healthy. Dance is physical exercise. It develops flexibility, strength, endurance and a sense of well-being. Flexibility: Dance requires the student to perform moves that require bending and stretching, so dancers naturally become more flexible by simply dancing. Strength: Dancing builds strength by forcing the muscles to resist against a dancer's own body weight. The core muscles are key to balance and strength and along with all muscle groups, are improved. Endurance: Regular dancing is great for improving cardiovascular endurance. Just as in any form of exercise, regular dancing will build endurance. Sense of Well-Being: Joining a dance class can increase self-confidence and build social skills. Because physical activity reduces stress and tension, regular dancing gives an overall sense of well-being. See ad on page 19.
