A NOTE from the Publisher Welcome to the July issue of NEA Kids’ Directory, part of the Occasions Publishing Group family of publications. NEA Kids’ Directory has many features that make it a valuable resource for parents, teachers, grandparents, and childcare professionals – anyone who is involved with children. It is compact in size, making it a handy resource to keep in your purse or car. In addition, it offers valuable coupons for use at kid-friendly businesses and includes a calendar of events so you know what’s going on across Northeast Arkansas each month. You’ll even find a convenient dining guide inside that lists restaurants offering free or discounted kids’ meals! Our goal each month is to help inform our readers of the many opportunities, events, products and services available for families in Northeast Arkansas. Please remember to support the businesses that advertise in this publication each month and tell them that you saw their ad in NEA Kids’ Directory. For the month of July, The FOA has put together a diverse class schedule that includes dance classes, art classes, drama classes and much more. For ages 4-6, The FOA will host Disney, The Nutcracker, superhero and fairytale-themed dance classes, drama classes and art classes during the weeks of July 7-10, July 14-17, July 21-24 and July 28-31. For ages 7-8, The FOA will host The Nutcracker Boot Camp, which includes Nutcracker-themed art classes and ballet classes, July 28-31. For ages 7-12, The FOA will host an array of art classes, drama classes and tap, jazz and ballet combo classes the week of July 7-10. For ages 7-16, The FOA will host its annual Young Artists Theatre (YAT) program, consisting of theatre, ballet, jazz and vocal classes, July 14-26. The program allows its students to prepare themselves for a live performance that will take place at The Forum Theatre in Downtown Jonesboro. This month’s YAT production will be “The Wizard of Oz.” The live performance will take place July 24-25. For ages 7 and up, The FOA will host Ballet Tuesdays on July 7 and 14 and Tap and Jazz Thursdays on July 9 and 16. These classes will focus on polishing technique and learning new choreography. For ages 8-18, The FOA will host dance intensive classes consisting of ballet, tap and jazz to prepare attendees for The Nutcracker auditions coming in August. To sign up for any of the classes or programs listed above, find all applications online at foajonesboro.org.
