A NOTE from the Publisher Welcome to the May issue of NEA Kids’ Directory, the newest addition to the Occasions Publishing Group family of publications.

NEA Kids’ has many features that make it a valuable resource for parents, teachers, grandparents, and childcare professionals – anyone who is involved with children. It is compact in size, making it a handy resource to keep in your purse or car. In addition, it offers valuable coupons for use at kid-friendly businesses and includes a calendar of events so you know what’s going on across Northeast Arkansas each month. You’ll even find a convenient dining guide inside that lists restaurants offering free or discounted kids meals!

Our goal each month is to help inform our readers of the many opportunities, events, products and services available for families in Northeast Arkansas.

A-State Summer Camp Academy

The A-State campus will be the place to be this summer as weeklong camp sessions get under way in June and continue through Aug. 7. Junk Box Engineering, Photo Safari, Young Chef’s Academy, Medical Minds, Princess in Training, Knight in Training, Shark Week, Super Hero Training Camp and many more camps are scheduled for this summer. All camps are held from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the A-State campus in Jonesboro. Register online at astate.edu/youth.

ASU Museum

The whole family can take part in TinkerFest on June 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Arkansas State University Museum. Part of the nationwide Maker Movement, TinkerFest is an engaging event where visitors will learn how everyday things work and explore the engineering and science underlying the inventive process.
