Playing is learning!

Play is essential for learning and good health throughout your child’s development. Be part of the fun, but also let your child guide his play.

Children need time for solitary play: time to use their imaginations, practice skills without concern about expectations of others and focus on exploring, creating and learning how things work.

Playing next to, but not with, another child – parallel play – is the first step toward playing with others.

Cooperative, or group play, helps children develop the lifelong skills of sharing, taking turns, obeying rules and negotiating.
