Clean Eating For Better Living “With almost 100 documented diet plans, trying to find the perfect plan to lose weight or get healthy can be confusing.

With so many, what’s the best diet out there?” LYNDSI LILLIS, CERTIFIED HEALTH & FITNESS COACH The truth is there isn’t one. Diets just don’t work. Don’t get me wrong, diets can work in the short-term, but as soon as you start eating outside of the diet plan, the weight comes right back. Not to mention some diets are simply unhealthy, if not dangerous.

So, what’s a weight or health conscious person to do?

The best thing to do is to make a long-term modification to the way you eat and to start eating clean. Getting started eating clean is easy. No 12- week study course; no elaborate meal matrix needed . . . just 3 simple steps.

STEP 1 Eat more whole foods, including whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables.

When food shopping, spend most of your time in the produce aisle.

STEP 2 Eliminate processed foods, refined sugars, preservatives and artificial ingredients.

Check the label . . . on everything. When you see something like “Butylated Hydroxyanisole” (real, not made up) the rule of thumb is: If you can’t read it, you probably shouldn’t eat it!

STEP 3 Listen to your body. Your body constantly sends you signals. After you eat a particular meal, do you feel good & energized? Or do you feel bloated and uncomfortable?

There’s a difference between feeling full and feeling fueled; are you listening?

Attempting to lose weight by starving yourself is not only ineffective, it’s also dangerous.

Tip: Don’t starve yourself instead eat healthy small meals throughout the day.

Myth #2: Take diet pills to boost your effort.

It’s so tempting! The commercials make compelling claims about the power of diet pills, but don’t fall for it. The “magic pill” has yet to be discovered (Actually it has, not not in pill form. exercise!). Diet pills are more likely to damage your health and burn 12

Tip: Don’t obsess about crunches! Instead focus on fat burning.

Myth #4: Eat packaged diet foods for speedy results.

It is amazing to see the kinds of foods that are packaged as ‘diet’ or ‘weight loss’ aids.

We all have it, we daydream about it, but

some of us never bring the will to be succesful out. That’s no longer. This is a call to action; a call to stand up and go get what is for you. Too often we can have a prize dead center in our eyes and not believe we are meant to have it because of what comes in pursuit.

Modern American society has a problem with dreaming big, but not being able to accomplish those dreams once the difficulties come. A minority group of people have been hard nosed naturally to pursue and accomplish, but it’s not an impossible to learn how.

Only 3% of Americans write down their goals. With so many cliche #onthegrind and #teamnosleep posts running rampant on social media it leads me to ask the question: How are 92% of Americans failing at what they set out to do?

Seeing yourself accomplishing something before it ever happens is the motor behind it.

Who are you? Some allow the difficulties of life to change their definition of themselves. I’m asking you to be apart of the 3% that fights loud and boldly. Make your name present. Life is no walk in the park. It’s not supposed to be. Life is a training ground that offers you challenges for your growth.

I need you to need yourself to get through it all.

Will there be trials that test you? Absolutely.

Intentionally approach your goal and silence the doubt that defeats most before they even start. Life isn’t for the passive, “Carpe Diem” means seize the Day, and that means action. Get up, believe you have it in you. Know that the walls you face are simply to keep those out that don’t want it bad enough. Intent is the difference between what’s dreamt and what’s done.
