Events Calendar September 5 The 125th Anniversary for the City of Port Orchard Now includes the marble tournament for kids and a coloring contest. Registration for both is at the Port Orchard Library. There will be dancing, food, antique cars and fire engines, the art walk, the Farmers Market, a historic hall at the Pavilion that will include speakers from the Naval Museum and exhibits from a number of organizations, including the Sidney Museum and Arts Association.

The day will run from 8 am to 8 pm, ending with a family friendly street dance after the closing ceremonies at 5pm (where cake will be served -- they are planning on serving 600 pieces of cake). The Rotary (who is doing the Street Dance) will be accepting food for helpline.

September 6 Taste of Port Orchard Up to 20 restaurants and up to 20 artisans on the waterfront in Port Orchard (in the same area as the Saturday Farmers Market). There will be music and raffles and food tasting, a beer garden for adults and a rootbeer garden forkids. Facepainting and crafts. A demonstrating artist is planned. Food tastings will all be in the $2-$3 range. The Blackberry Festival will be going on in Bremerton and we get a lot of traffic on the foot ferry, which will be running that day.

September 20 Hog Fest is a new festival - the first ever PNWBA sanctioned event. That means that the winner at our Hog Fest can move on to a national championship. There will be $5,000 in prizes, including a $1,000 grand prize in the professional division and a $250 grand prize in the amateur division. There are amateur events scheduled from now until Hog Fest on September 20. The Facebook page will have updated information as events are added.

October 2 Ladies Night Out - in downtown Port Orchard 5pm to 8 pm. Lots of mother/daughters are coming to spend time. Sometimes father/daughters as well! It is also turning out to be a great grandmother/grandaughter event.

October 31 The Halloween events starting at 4 pm and going until 7 pm in downtown Port Orchard. Pictures with a witch at the Sidney Art Gallery along with a scavenger hunt in the museum and lots of treats. Downtown merchants will be handing out candy and treats as well.
