The Rink At The River Move over, Rockefeller Center, the Coachella Valley is getting its own outdoor holiday skating rink. A portion of the popular water feature at The River of Rancho Mirage will transform into an ice skating rink on Nov. 22 and stay frozen for holiday fun through Jan. 8. Ice skating at The Rink at The River will be available daily during that time with bands and DJs providing entertainment at night.

Official City of Palm Springs Holiday Tree Lighting 12/1/16 555 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92262 / Come ring in the holiday season with the Official City of Palm Springs Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Thursday, December 1 at Frances Stevens Park in uptown Palm Springs. This very festive event kicks off just prior to Villagefest and will feature free cookies and hot cocoa, traditional caroling and holiday music featuring the Palm Springs High School Madrigal Singers and the Palm Springs High School Symphonic Orchestra. Santa Claus will arrive and then it’s time for the 5:15 pm tree lighting featuring the City’s spectacular 22ft “green” Holiday Tree. The tree will be adorned in thousands of energy efficient lights and will be lit by the Palm Springs City Council and World Champion Boxer Tim Bradley. Admission is Free! Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade Palm Canyon Drive between Sunny Dunes and Tamarisk / The 23rd Annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade will take place on Palm Canyon Drive in downtown Palm Springs on Saturday, December 3 at 5:45 pm. It begins at Ramon Road and Palm Canyon Drive and heads northbound on Palm Canyon Drive to Tamarisk Road where it ends. Come early to get a seat to watch the parade as this is one of the most popular events in the Coachella Valley. This much loved holiday tradition features a host of marching bands, performing groups, signature floats adorned in thousands of colorful holiday lights, huge Macy’s style balloons and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus!
