Summer Camp... Re-Imagined Session 7: 7/28-8/1 Tetrix Robotics (high school only) If you can dream up a design, you can build it with the TETRIX® Building System. Featuring heavy-duty, aircraft-grade aluminum elements for construction; powerful drive motors; and expandable capabilities, TETRIX provides the ideal platform for creativity. Learn to control your robot with RobotC programming. Ideal for those interested in competing in FIRST Tech Challenge in the fall.

Session 1: 6/16-20 NXT LEGO Robotics Camp (4th - 8th) How would you like the opportunity to build a robot that responds to sound, throws a ball, or reacts to Jedi powers?

Students will learn how to assemble the NXT robots, how to work with light, sound and motion sensors, and how to program the robots using a computer.

Session 2: 6/23-27 NASA Innovation Camp (4th - 8th) Campers will explore the fundamental forces associated with aircraft and rocket flight; discover what it is like to be an astronaut; and learn about Mars exploration and mission control. A NASA JPL engineer who helped develop Curiosity, the Mars rover, will join us on the last day of camp.

Session 8: 8/4-8 NASA Innovation Camp (high school) In this advanced and exciting program designed by NASA, you are in charge of mission control. As NASA project managers and have the opportunity to plan your own mission, determining materials, working within a budget, and then building your spacecraft. In depth discussions on aeronautics, physics, and the engineering design process are included in a series of simulations to explore the theory and practice of flight. A NASA JPL engineer will join us on the last day of camp.

Session 3: 6/30 - 7/3 Story Starter Comic Book Creation (K-3rd) Do you have a story to build? Create and communicate stories using LEGO bricks as your toolbox, cameras to document the action, and integrated software to create your very own LEGO comic book!

Session 4: 7/7-11 EV3 Robotics (4th - 8th) EV3 Space Challenge dares campers to build and program a LEGO EV3 robot that completes a series of challenges all set on Mars! Repair a communication disc, collet your crew to rescue a rover, deploy a satellite and activate solar panels in this newest robotics camp.

Important camp information:

· Check-in will begin 20 minutes prior to each camp beginning.

· The LEGO® kits are reused by the other campers. Your child will not take them home at the end of the camp session; however, each camper will receive a take-home project.

Session 5: 7/14-18 Engineering FUNdamentals with Machines and Mechanisms (4th - 8th) Do you know how it works? Build and design increasingly advanced mechanisms using LEGO® Technic and System sets. Learn about components such as gears, pulleys and levers, and use motors to power your own crazy inventions.

Your child will read and learn with carefully selected books that teach 8 literary elements: setting, point of view, plot, characterization, theme, foreshadowing, flashback and figurative language. These unique lessons will model mindfulness of the elements and what your child will look for to be the best reader.

Our ALL NEW “Hands-On” activities will motivate your child in the areas of reading, math, science, sight words, phonics and more.
