Beauty Brains and Blessed Renee Bull decided to participate in Pageants to bring awareness to her nonprofit organization Girls2Girls, created to empower and provide positive community leaders to encourage girls to dream big.

After competing in several local and state competitions Renee won the title of Miss Delaware USA 2015. She competed in Baton Rouge Louisiana for the title of Miss USA. Renee won Miss Congeniality and placed as a semi-finalist top 11. She was the first contestant in Delaware to make the top 10. Renee is special because she doesn’t consider the pageant a competition with the other contestants; she competes by showcasing the best version of Renee. She competes from a very generous place, her heart. Renee wants young girls to know they don’t have to change who they are. Be proud of YOU! She never feels competitive or negative during pageant week. She is very helpful, supportive and genuine. Renee is the middle child of seven. Her smile lights up a room. She puts God 1st, family, and her church family and friends; she credits them for never giving up and supporting her unconditionally. Renee believes God always has a plan and is truly blessed to represent the state of Delaware. Her Dream Team consist of five ladies Shana Williams, Fran Edwards, Nicole DiGiacobbe, Kelsey Miller and Alina Pfiefer . They helped her with nutrition, fitness, wardrobe, makeup, and interview. Renee Bull recently received a Proclamation from New Castle County Council for making history in the first State.

TIPS TO MAKE A SMOOTH TRANSITION FROM SUMMER TO SCHOOL

It is no secret that school is right around the corner. Kids have grown an inch or two and gained a few pounds.

Shop around, it may not be necessary to buy a lot but the sales will be helpful on the pocket especially if you have multiple children returning to school. To eliminate the stress of taking additional days off work, make sure that your children are current on immunizations and physicals.

Yearly eye examinations are especially important because it can have an impact on the work completed at school as well as home. Healthy discussions at home regarding personal morals, values and respecting the opinions and rights of others reduce tension and confusion while at school. Getting students acclimated to a routine a few weeks before school is very helpful and the importance of a healthy diet and rest promotes both good physical and mental health. The last tip to remember is to keep your child positive, as a parent stay involved, keep them active and encouraged, talk with them about problems or concerns and tell them you love them and you will be there for them. Children who are supported by parents and or family have a greater success rate than children who are not supported.

GET THE SUPPORT YOU ARE ENTITLED TO UNDER THE LAW Are you a single parent who is struggling to make ends meet and not receiving the support for your children that you are entitled to? Are you raising your children without financial help from their non-custodial parent?

As the month of September was declared Child Support Month in the State of Delaware, I thought it appropriate to discuss the importance of receiving the child support benefits that you may be entitled to. Pursuant to Delaware law, Title 13 Delaware Code, Section 501, parents are required to support their children until the age of 18, unless still in high school, and then until the age of 19 or graduation from high school, whichever occurs first. If you are the custodial parent, meaning the children are residing in your home more than 50% of the time, then you are entitled to child support benefits from the other parent.

The calculation allows each parent to keep a minimum amount of income for their basic needs. Each child’s basic needs are taken into consideration before the parents may retain any additional income for themselves. The parties may always deviate from the child support calculation if it is determined to be in the best interest of the child.

The Family Court of the State of Delaware uses a Child Support Formula Calculation as a guide to determine how much support the custodial parent will receive. It gives you a general idea of what the support amount may be. It may not be the exact amount that the Family Court will order. It may be much higher or much lower because the Family Court will make the final decision based on the testimony presented at the mediation or hearing. You must be

SWIMMING FOR YOUR BEST BODY Did you know that swimming itself is one of the best workouts possible for the body? Swimming increases muscle tone and strength.

When you’re swimming, every kick and stroke becomes a resistance against water. It forces us to use our core muscles, causing those muscles to tone and become stronger. Swimming also increases bone strength. Swimming keeps our limbs flexible and loose.

Besides all of these things, one of my favorite things about working out in water is that it elongates the body, meaning it makes it longer, which is excellent for stretching and providing an overall more appealing look.

Here’s an example of a great swimming exercise: Back Stroke: keep your eyes up, look straight up at the sky or ceiling (not at your toes). Make sure your head is in

line with your spine.

Make a Y and reach back with each arm at a 45 degree angle to your body, and stroke.

Do you sometimes feel like you earn a decent income, but you still struggle with too much debt? Without a strategy, and a clear understanding of what it is really costing you, debt can sabotage your hopes and dreams for the future. Losing debt is a lot like losing weight. Experts say that fad diets don’t work in the long run, only a steady consistent shift in eating habits will work. Debt can be just as ugly as fat, and equally hard to shed. These simple tips might help:

VOID making things worse. Budget dollars carefully, just like you would calories, and try not to spend money on things that are not absolute necessities. Skip the latte, the new shoes, the massage & facial, and use what you save to pay down your debt.

ONSIDER every dollar. Don’t get in the habit of thinking “it’s only 20 bucks”. It all adds up quickly.

RIM the monthly fat. By that I mean that you should take a good hard look at the recurring monthly bills you pay. Every company wants recurring streams of income.

It’s hard to buy things anymore and just pay one upfront price. Cut back on the monthly charges, and try not to add any more. Your cable bill can be a good place to start.

Just like dieting, it is important to reward yourself occasionally, when you’ve made progress, but make it a small reward, don’t binge and undo all of your sacrifice! If you are a busy professional and lack the time to manage your affairs effectively, hiring a daily money manager could be the answer to your prayers.
