Instruments are like cars. Better quality instruments allow the students to perform at a higher level and with more consistancy. If your student got their first instrument when they started band in middle school, they have likely outgrown that instrument and mouthpiece. High School musicians develop a more mature sound and more advanced technique which can be tough to achieve on a beginner level instrument and/or mouthpiece.
Mouthpiece upgrades make for a quick enhancement to a student’s sound and can be a great confidence boost for students. Instrument purchases make a great birthday or holiday gift and can last a student all the way through college concert/marching band!
