Resie Adell Hibbert, affectionately known as “Cherry,” was born on January19,1941,inSt.Mary Jamaica,andpeacefullydepartedthislife onMay7,2026inWeston,Florida.Shelivedaliferootedinlove,faith, dedication,andfamily leavingbehindalegacythatwillcontinuetolive onintheheartsofallwhoknewandlovedher.
CherryattendedMicoUniversityCollegeinKingston,Jamaicawhile simultaneouslyworkingattheGovernmentPrintingOf icein bookkeeping,demonstratingfromanearlyagethedetermination, discipline,andstrongworkethicthatwouldde ineherthroughouther life.
OnAugust5,1961,shemarriedtheloveofherlife,Dudley“Mikey” Hibbert.Togethertheybuiltabeautifulmarriagegroundedin commitment,strength,anddevotion.Theirunionwasblessedwith threechildren:Charlene,Conrad,andKaren,whoweretheprideand joyofherlife.
In1982,sheemigratedtotheUnitedStatesandsettledinMiami, Florida,inpursuitofgreateropportunitiesforherfamily.In1997, she andherfamilymovedtoWeston,Florida,whereshecontinued buildingalovinghome illedwithwarmth,faith,andtogetherness. AfterarrivingintheUnitedStates,CherryworkedforU.S.FederalOil andGas,whereshefaithfullyservedhercompanyandfamily.Onceher soncompleteddentalschool,shetransitionedintohelpingmanage oneofhisdentalof ices,wheresheworkeddiligentlyuntilretiringin 2014.Followingretirement shelovinglydedicatedherselftocaring forherhusbandwiththesamesel lessnessandcompassionthat de inedherentirelife.
Cherrywasadevotedmother,grandmother,great-grandmother,sister, aunt,andfriend.Sheleavestocherishhermemoryherchildren Charlene,Conrad,andKaren;herbelovedgrandchildrenCharesse, Mishka,CJ,Noah,Micah,Nikolas,andElijah;step-grandsonAndrew; hercherishedgreat-grandsonsBrandonandBraydon;andherloved son-in-lawAnthony.
She also leaves behind an abundance of loving nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Her nieces Jeniffer and Angelique held especially close places in her heart and were loved deeply.
ShewasprecededindeathbyherbelovedgrandsonIsaac,her husbandMikey,aswellashersiblings,whomsheloveddearly.
Cherry'sgreatestjoywasherfamily.ShelovedpreparingSunday breakfastsanddinners,gatheringeveryonetogetheraroundthetable withfoodmadefromloveandcare.Herhomewasaplaceofcomfort, laughter,wisdom,andtogetherness.Shetreasuredconversationswith herdearfriendJacquiHaleandcouldoftenbefoundenjoyinglong phonecalls illedwithlaughterandcompanionship.Shewasalsoan avidsportsfanwhopassionatelysupportedtheMiamiHeatandMiami Dolphins.Inherquietermoments,sheenjoyedwatchingherfavorite televisionprograms,includingherdailysoapoperas,ThePriceIs Right,WheelofFortune,Jeopardy!,andHallmarkmovies.
Aboveallelse,CherrylovedtheLordandSaviorJesusChrist.Herfaith wasthecenterofherlife,andsheremainedadevotedwomanof prayerwhoconstantlyupliftedherfamilyandlovedonesbeforeGod. Hercompassion,kindness,generosity,andunwaveringlovetouched everypersonfortunateenoughtoknowher.Shehadaremarkableway ofmakingothersfeelwelcomed,caredfor,anddeeplyloved.
Thoughourheartsareheavywithsorrow,werejoiceinknowingthat Cherry'slifewasablessingandhermemorywillforeverremaina sourceofcomfort,inspiration,andlove.Herlegacyoffaith,family devotion,strength,andunconditionallovewillcontinuethroughthe generationssheleavesbehind.
