Binning the paper If our customer service and the manufacturing of our aircrete products is being managed and supported by the most up to date systems, then our staff definitely deserve the same attention.

We’re moving to a technology-based solution to control access to our sites. Attendance, holidays, overtime and shift patterns are all part of the system, while the access control makes absolutely certain that only the right people can enter the sites or specific areas within them.

This brief ‘InSite Bite’ is to introduce everyone to the new H+H UK system that is being adopted in 2021.

This system, which can be accessed via an App on your phone, is designed to do away with the sort of inefficiencies, delays and inaccuracies that can happen with a system managed via a mix of paper, word-of-mouth and computer records.

No more filling in forms, no more lost holiday requests or overtime forms. The entire process will be automated, paper-free and efficient.

INSITE BITE

How will it work?

This system is designed to be used with a key fob for access, then all other interactions will be via a phone, tablet or PC. Everyone will have their own personalised access to the system. It will keep track of your entry and exit from both offices and plants and be used to plan shift patterns, manage holidays and organise cover for sickness.

You will use the system for holiday requests and overtime allocations and managers will be able to get an overview of working patterns, enabling them to plan better and work together to organise the most efficient resourcing.

The target The system is designed to provide a safer and better managed working environment for everyone. Access control provides security and will also log everyone’s working hours. It will link to the payroll system ensuring that everyone, especially shift employees have their overtime and holiday recorded and calculated accurately and correctly.

Rollout The rollout is beginning immediately. Installation of the infrastructure starts in January with implementation of the system planned for Easter.

You will see contractors on site installing the cabling that will be required for both factories and offices.

In February there will be a phased testing period, with trial users putting the system through its paces.

In March these first users will become “super users” helping to train colleagues in turn and by the end March the time management systems will be live, enabling all staff to log in and out electronically.
