Welcome to our first alumni newsletter! My hope is that The Phin will provide information of interest to you. We will continue to produce and mail Perspectives each Winter and Summer to you, but we see this newsletter as a convenient way to keep you up to date on relevant happenings. The Phin will be sent out on the first day of each month and in each issue we will highlight an alumni, tell you about (and post photos) of the latest and greatest happenings at Prep as well as keep you up to date on all of the alumni events that you can participate in. We hope you enjoy reading!

Our Alumni Celebrate Derby Style This year Prep hosted its"Run for the Roses" Derby Jubilee on May 1, 2021. We enjoyed a lovely evening on campus in the courtyard where we bet on horses, auction items and reconnected with our Prep community!

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: MARGARET (HOWELL) UPDEGRAFF '00 Margaret (Howell) Up De Graff graduated from Hilton Head Prep in 2000. After graduation, she attended the University of South Carolina and received her undergraduate degree and her Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Margaret joined The Law Office of Michael J. Howell, P.A. in 2009 and is currently in charge of the firm's Probate and Trust Administration and Settlement Division. She is licensed to practice law in Florida and South Carolina and is a Certified Mediator in South Carolina Probate and Circuit Courts. She met and married Stephen Up De Graff in Savannah, Ga. They have two beautiful boys, Jorden, a rising first grader at Prep, and Howell (three years old). They currently reside in Bluffton, SC.

MEET THE NEW DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS Natalie Ellis joins Hilton Head Prep as the new Director of Communications. Natalie previously worked at Elite Resort Group as the Director of Marketing and Peacock Automotive as the Marketing Manager. She brings a wealth of marketing, social media and communications knowledge with her. She has a B.S. in Public Relations from Georgia Southern University. Natalie lives on Hilton Head Island with her husband James and their son, Tatum.
