How Our Community — and Your Support — Helped

Huntington Hospital Stay Strong During the Eaton Fire

Through thick and thin, good times and bad, Huntington Hospital is rooted in our community providing life-saving care when it is needed most.

The recent Eaton Fire put that commitment to the test.

The fire claimed at least 18 lives and destroyed more than 9,000 buildings, making it the fifth deadliest and second most destructive wildfire in California’s history. Within the first three days, about 50% of Huntington Hospital’s staff were affected by evacuation orders. Despite facing their own personal hardships, many staff members still came to work reflecting Huntington’s deep commitment and connection to our community.

Thanks to your support, Huntington Hospital remained open throughout the crisis, continuing to deliver essential emergency and inpatient care. We also deployed nurses and medical supplies to the Pasadena Convention Center, helped coordinate the evacuation and support of seniors and other vulnerable residents, and quickly converted a conference room into a food and personal care pantry for displaced employees.

Your generosity didn’t just help us keep the doors open it helped us go above and beyond.

Through it all, Huntington Hospital is here for you.

Your support is an investment in leading-edge care.

Investing in a Healthier Tomorrow:

Addressing Rising Cancer Rates in Young Adults

At Huntington Hospital, we are seeing a growing need for cancer prevention in younger adults. Recent data from the American Cancer Society shows rising rates of skin, breast, colorectal, and cervical cancers in people ages 20 to 39.

With your support, we offer education, screenings, and access to care helping patients understand their risks and detect cancer earlier, when outcomes are best. Together, we are building a healthier, more informed community, where prevention and early action save lives every day. To learn more, visit huntingtonhealth.org/ our-services/cancer-treatment.

Celebrating Huntington Volunteers

Whether they are greeting a worried family member, guiding a lost visitor, or supporting staff behind the scenes, our volunteers are a vital part of what makes Huntington Hospital a place of hope and healing

In 2024 more than 4,200 volunteers, ages 14 to 94, gave 109,253 hours of their time. Last year alone, we welcomed 1,142 new volunteers — 221 adults, 396 college students and 525 high school students and these numbers continue to climb in 2025. If you see a volunteer at the hospital, please take a moment to thank them.

We are truly stronger, together.
