Original Danish design Our furniture is based on ideas of simplicity, functionality and great details. One of the great details is that vi only use sustainable wood. Another is our commitment to the original trade.

Throughout the years, Skovby has educated more than 250 men and women within the field of furniture production. With an inclusive staff policy, a flexible senior policy and a constant flow of around 10 apprentices, we carry on our core values while also investing in the future.

Unsere Möbel basieren auf den Ideen von Ein­ fachheit, Funktionalität und großartigen De­ tails. Eines der großartigen Details ist, dass wir nur nachhaltiges Holz verwenden. Ein anderes ­ist unser Engagement für das ursprünglichen Handwerk.

Im Laufe der Jahre hat Skovby mehr als 250 Männer und Frauen im Bereich der Möbel­ produktion ausgebildet. Third generation Skovby’s story began in 1933 in a small rural village in Denmark. Back then a talented young cabinetmaker with big dreams started a small-scale furniture production in his mother’s home in Skovby. His name was Thorvald Rasmussen – and this was the beginning of what would eventually become Skovby Møbelfabrik A/S.

For Thorvald – and later his son Villy – there were many obstacles, but also many triumphs along the way, and slowly but surely the company expanded and grew. Today Skovby is owned by third generation and grandsons Preben and Jørgen Rasmussen and the furniture is still designed and produced locally – in the heart of Denmark – in Skovby, where it all began.

Die Geschichte von Skovby begann im Jahr 1933 in einem kleinen dänischen Dorf. Ein talentierter junger Tischler mit großen Träu­ men begann damals im Haus seiner Mutter in Skovby eine kleine Möbelproduktion. Sein Name war Thorvald Rasmussen – und dies war der Beginn von Skovby Møbelfabrik A/S. Für Thorvald – und später seinen Sohn Villy – gab es viele Hindernisse, aber auch viele Tri­

Skovby is known for timeless Danish craftsmanship furniture with that little something extra – and the new dining table #115 is no exception.

The #115 is a wide, oval-shaped table featuring a centrally placed pedestal base and a patented synchronous extension system.

The tabletop is split down the middle and can easily be pulled apart, causing the hidden extension leaves – stored in the base – to automatically pop up and unfold.

The table to expand from 210 to 280 cm, providing space for 2–4 additional guests, accommodating up to 12 people in total.

Pieces cut from round and elliptical shaped tables are brought together to create a stackable and sustainable stool made entirely from leftover pieces from our production.
