TARA COMMUNITY NEWS

MESSAGE FROM PHILLIP PARSH,

Summer has arrived, bringing with it the warm and humid temperatures we expect this time of year. Rain has been limited, but we remain hopeful that more showers are just around the corner.

I am pleased to share that the 2025 audit has been completed. We are satisfied that all transactions from 2025 have been properly reviewed and accounted for, and our finances remain in good standing. Tara continues to be in a strong financial position.

Management is currently preparing the 2027 operating budget, which will be carefully reviewed by both the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors. Final approval of the 2027 budget is expected at our October board meeting.

The Board last met on June 1st, and our next scheduled meeting will be held on September 14th. While the Board takes a short break from regular meetings during the summer months, we continue to stay connected with management and remain available whenever needed.

Recently, I was asked what the culture at Tara means to me. I believe our culture begins with each of us—our interactions with fellow members, our neighbors, and our staff. When we treat one another with kindness, respect, and positivity, we help strengthen the community we all enjoy. The welcoming environment we have created together is something we can continue to build on for many years to come.

Let’s continue to appreciate the lifestyle, friendships, and sense of community that make Tara such a special place to call home.

The next regular Board meeting will be held on Monday, September 14th at 3:00 PM.

Thank you for your continued support, involvement, and pride in our community.

TARA COMMUNITY NEWS

MESSAGE

Dear Tara Members,

One of the things that makes Tara Golf & Country Club such a vibrant and enjoyable community is the incredible variety of activities available to our members. Whether it’s bridge, mahjong, Mexican Train, euchre, golf, tennis, pickleball, dining events, or one of our many social gatherings, these experiences help create the friendships and connections that make Tara feel like home.

We also love welcoming guests to the club. Sharing Tara with friends and family is one of the many privileges of membership, and guests often leave with a greater appreciation for the wonderful community we have built together.

As a reminder, participation in club activities, groups, and amenities is reserved for Tara members and their invited guests. While it can be tempting to invite friends, neighbors, or acquaintances to regularly join organized activities, we ask that all participants either be members or attend as the guest of a member.

This is important for several reasons:

· Protecting the value of membership. Our members invest in Tara through their dues and ownership of the community. The activities, amenities, and social opportunities are a significant part of that value.

· Supporting our club’s financial health. Membership dues and club revenues help fund the facilities, staff, programs, and amenities that everyone enjoys.

· Maintaining fairness for all members. Many of our activities are volunteer-led and utilize club resources. Ensuring that participation is limited to members and their guests helps keep these opportunities available for those who support the club.

· Preserving our private club culture. Tara is not a public facility. The sense of community, camaraderie, and belonging that members enjoy is one of the unique benefits of being part of a private, memberowned club.

If you notice someone participating regularly who may not be a member or an invited guest, please feel free to discreetly notify a member of our staff. We are not looking to make anyone feel unwelcome; rather, we are working to ensure that our policies are applied consistently and fairly.

Thank you for helping us protect and preserve the special culture that makes Tara Golf & Country Club such a wonderful place to live, play, and connect. We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to create exceptional experiences for our members and their guests.

Important Summer Reminders: Hole-in-One Club & Statement Payments: As many of our members head north for the summer, we would like to remind everyone of two important items that require your attention.

Hole-in-One Club: If you would like to discontinue your participation in the Hole-in-One Club while you are away (or at any time), you must notify Jill in our Business Office IN WRITING before your departure. To ensure all requests are processed accurately, verbal requests cannot be accepted.

Please send your written request by email to Jill Orologio at: jorologio@taragcc.com before leaving for the summer. Providing written notification helps us avoid unnecessary charges and ensures your account is updated correctly.

Monthly Statement Payments: Monthly payments are due by the end of each month. To help ensure your payment is processed on time and to avoid late fees, we strongly recommend that payments be received by the Club office no later than the 25th of each month.

When scheduling payments, please allow adequate time for weekends, bank holidays, mail delivery, and ACH processing. As a best practice, mailed payments should be sent on or around the 20th of the month to help ensure they arrive by the 25th. ACH and online payments should also be scheduled with sufficient processing time.

Thank you for your attention to these important reminders. We appreciate your cooperation and wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer season!

TARA GOLF HAPPENINGS

MESSAGE FROM MISSY WILLIAMS, HEAD GOLF PRO 941.758.7961 x1226 | mwilliams@taragcc.com

As we enjoy another busy summer month at the club, we’d like to remind all members that maintaining the standards and traditions of our club is a shared responsibility. Two areas that require everyone’s attention are adherence to the dress code and maintaining an appropriate pace of play.

Dress Code - A Member’s Responsibility: Our dress code is in place to preserve the atmosphere, image, and traditions of our club. Every member is responsible for knowing and following the club’s dress requirements whenever using the golf course, practice facilities, clubhouse, or other club amenities.

If you choose to bring guests to the club, it is also your responsibility to ensure they are aware of and comply with the dress code. Guests reflect on the member who sponsors them, and we ask that members communicate club expectations to their guests before they arrive.

Pace of Play - Everyone’s Responsibility: Maintaining an acceptable pace of play is essential to providing an enjoyable experience for all golfers. Slow play impacts every group on the course and can create delays that affect the entire day’s schedule.

Each member is responsible for monitoring their group’s pace and keeping up with the group ahead. This includes being ready to play when it is your turn, limiting unnecessary delays, moving efficiently between shots, and keeping the round progressing at an appropriate pace.

Members are also responsible for ensuring that their guests understand and follow pace-of-play expectations. A guest’s actions on the course are ultimately the responsibility of the sponsoring member.

Accountability Matters: Club rules and policies are most effective when members take ownership of them. We ask all members to be proactive in monitoring their own conduct and the conduct of their guests.

By taking personal responsibility for dress code compliance and pace of play, you help preserve the quality of the club experience for everyone. Your cooperation and attention to these important standards are appreciated and contribute directly to the enjoyment of all members and guests.

Thank you for doing your part to uphold the traditions, standards, and reputation of our club. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable July on the course.

TARA COURSE HAPPENINGS

MESSAGE FROM DON ABELL, COURSE

941.751.5593 | dabell@taragcc.com

The second aerification of the year will happen on July 6th – 12th. The greens, tees, fairways and rough will be aerified with hollow tines in order relieve soil compaction and remove thatch. With the aerifications throughout the summer we will remove 20-25% of organic material for the year which the USGA recommends for the health of the green. The aerification creates pore spaces which allows oxygen to get to the root zone. Remember, in order to grow good grass it must have deep healthy roots and getting oxygen into the root zone will relieve soil compaction and create new pore spaces for the roots of the plant to grow. The fairways will be verticut to remove excessive thatch. By removing the thatch this will allow water, air and nutrients to reach the root zone and this will produce healthy turf in the fairways. Last, we will be making an application of Curfew to the tees and some fairways to reduce the nematode populations in these areas. These cultural practices keep the golf course in the best possible condition throughout the year.

The following is the aerification schedule for the rest of summer 2026:

· September 8th – 10th: Aerifiy Greens, Tees and Fairways. Apply a preemergent fertilizer to the golf course.

Dear Members,

We hope everyone is enjoying the summer season and, most importantly, staying hydrated during these hot summer days!

As many of you have likely noticed, we are beginning to see more visible progress with the clubhouse remodel. Demolition work has now moved into some of the more prominent areas of the clubhouse, marking an exciting step forward in the transformation of our facility.

We understand that construction can occasionally create inconveniences, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding throughout this process. Our team continues to work closely with contractors to minimize disruptions and make the renovation process as seamless and non-invasive as possible for our members and guests.

We are excited about the improvements taking shape and look forward to sharing additional updates as progress continues. Thank you for your continued support as we work to create an enhanced clubhouse experience for everyone to enjoy for years to come.

We wish you a safe, enjoyable, and festive summer season.

Warm regards,

Bryan Allen

July is here, which means summer is officially underway! From the hot Florida sunshine and afternoon thunderstorms to family vacations and days spent at the beach, this time of year always brings a slower pace—but there is still plenty happening at the Club.

We’ll kick off the month with our Bourbon Street Night on July 3rd. Enjoy a taste of New Orleans with themed food specials while still having access to our full dinner menu with live entertainment by Sue & the Survivors. Then on July 4th, we’ll celebrate Independence Day with our annual golf event followed by a BBQ Lunch Buffet. Please note that the Club will close at 3PM that day.

As a reminder, the Clubhouse’s annual closure will be from July 6th-18th. If your card group or social gathering regularly meets at the Club, please make alternative arrangements during this time.

Once we reopen, the fun continues! Join us on July 24th for our Pasta Station Night featuring live entertainment by The Boomers. Then wrap up the month on July 31st with our Honky Tonk Happy Hour featuring a DJ and karaoke from Goodley Entertainment.

And don’t forget, the Halfway House at the pool is open daily from 9AM to 3PM, making it the perfect place to grab a bite or refreshment while enjoying the summer weather.

While July may be a quieter month around the Club, we’re committed to keeping our members busy, entertained, and enjoying everything summer has to offer. We look forward to seeing you around the Club this month!

HOUSE COMMITTEE

MESSAGE FROM KIM

The House Committee has been hard at work, and as a new member I’ve already learned something fun — we have a dedicated Sparkle Committee . This year’s Sparkle Committee includes Wendy Kokinda, Jodie Lawson, Brett Allen, and myself.

Our role is simple but important: we walk the property, identify areas that need attention, and make recommendations to management to help keep everything looking its best. It’s a behind - the - scenes effort that helps ensure our community always shines.

Big teamwork. Bigger flavor.

The House Committee reached out to our Food & Beverage team, and together they’ve added something special to Wednesday Burger Night — soft - serve ice cream sundaes and cones . Come for the burgers. Stay for the swirl.

The Queen of Hearts Jackpot continues to grow, and the excitement builds each week. A big thank- you goes to John Bourjaily , who has championed this weekly promotion and kept the momentum strong.

There’s a drawing every Thursday at 6 p.m., and tickets are just $2 each . We’ve had several small winners so far: Bonal Schwarts, Patricia Patt, Bonnie Fuller — but the jackpot itself is still waiting to be claimed.

Thank you for showing kindness and respect as we all work together to make our community a truly special place. If you have compliments or concerns you’d like the House Committee to be aware of, please email them to kimkayrandolph@gmail.com .

Your feedback helps us keep improving and ensures every voice is heard.

Sincerely,

LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE

Dear Members,

The Long Range Planning (LRP) Committee is focused on fostering member feedback, ensuring diligence in planning, and streamlining the implementation of future capital requests. Our team consists of a diverse mix of seasonal and full-time residents who combine a deep understanding of Tara’s culture with both traditional and innovative perspectives.

The 2026 LRP Committee members are:

· Steve Adams

· Deb Magers

· Joe Maloney

· Deb Mazzaferro

· Tom Orchard

· Dave Whitehead

Regarding the April 2026 LRP Survey, we gathered member input on what makes Tara special, the Club’s strategic priorities, amenity usage, capital project preferences, and our disciplined financial approach. We received approximately 320 responses—a participation rate comparable to the Member Satisfaction Survey—providing a robust foundation for our analysis.

We are currently exploring new strategies to encourage even higher participation in the future, as we want to ensure every voice is heard. Thank you for your continued engagement and support as we work toward a Comprehensive Master Plan for the next three to five years and beyond.

Sincerely,

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Member Spotlight – Sally Shuford

Sally Shuford has been a Tara homeowner since 1995. A Bradenton native, she and her husband Jim chose Tara after finding a home they loved—and she’s been an integral part of the community ever since. Many friends are surprised to learn that Sally learned to swim in the Braden River, right where the bridge stands today.

Some of Sally’s favorite Tara memories center around time spent at the clubhouse with Jim and friends. One particularly memorable moment was a golf tournament featuring “Missy’s crazy hole placements”—where their group scored a 37 on a single hole and shared plenty of laughs along the way. Sally’s favorite hole is #14, and beyond golf, she enjoys playing bridge and participating in water aerobics.

With a background in school administration, Sally brought strong organizational and leadership skills to her many volunteer roles. Over the years, she has contributed to some of Tara’s most significant changes, helping guide the club’s growth in a positive direction. One notable challenge she recalls was navigating member concerns during handicap adjustments when additional tees were introduced.

Sally’s dedication to Tara is reflected in her extensive service:

· Long Range Planning Committee Chair

· Golf Committee

· House Committee Chair

· Tara Board of Directors

· TWGA President

· Member of Tara Niners

· TMA President

· TMA Technology Committee

A natural joiner, Sally says volunteering is simply “in her DNA.” She has served on the Technology Committee since its inception and takes pride in seeing its recommendations well received. Having lived in the area her entire life—and at Tara for over 30 years—she has witnessed tremendous change and growth.

Sally encourages all members to get involved: volunteering brings fresh ideas, strengthens the community, and is one of the best ways to make lasting friendships.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE

MESSAGE FROM JODI SCHLETER

Happy 250th Birthday, America!

As we celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday, your Social Committee wishes everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July!

Since being formed this spring, your new Social Committee has been hard at work creating an exciting vision for the year ahead. Working alongside club leadership, we’ve developed a year-long calendar while planning the details approximately 90 days in advance. This approach provides a strong framework while allowing us the flexibility to add fresh ideas and respond to member feedback throughout the year.

One of the highlights of June was hosting our “Doughnut You Know We Appreciate You!” Employee Appreciation event. It was our privilege to recognize the outstanding Tara Golf & Country Club team who work behind the scenes each day to make our community such a wonderful place to call home. From our grounds crew and maintenance team to our back-of-house staff, front-of-house team, golf professionals, and administrative staff, we enjoyed serving Five-0 Donuts and a coffee bar as a small token of our appreciation. On June 29th, the staff continued the celebration with an afternoon at PopStroke, giving them an opportunity to relax, connect, and

enjoy time together. This year’s celebration was planned by the Social Committee with support from members of both the Social and House Committees and was inspired by feedback from both our members and employees encouraging us to try something new. We hope every staff member knows how much they are valued and appreciated.

As we continue planning, one of our biggest priorities is creating opportunities that appeal to the broad interests of our membership. Whether you’re retired, still working, a longtime resident, or new to Tara, we’re intentionally building a calendar that offers a variety of social gatherings, educational opportunities, seasonal celebrations, and community events. Our goal is simple: to create experiences where everyone feels welcome and has opportunities to connect with neighbors and friends.

At our next meeting, we’ll begin adding even more fun and creative ideas to the strong calendar we’ve already built. If you have a suggestion for an event, activity, speaker, or social gathering, we’d love to hear it. Please share your ideas with any Social Committee member. Many of the best events begin with a member’s great idea, and your input helps shape the experiences that make Tara such a special community.

We’re excited about the year ahead and look forward to creating memorable experiences for all of our members.

Happy Fourth of July!
