PRESIDENT
Tara Board of Directors
I would like to thank everyone for participating in the Long-Range planning and the Member satisfaction surveys. The Member satisfaction survey is planned to be repeated in October and again in December. The information that we receive from the satisfaction survey will be part of the overall process in evaluating Hampton golf.
I am pleased to report that financially we are on track to meet or exceed the projected 2024 budget. The process to create the 2025 budget is underway and your Finance Committee and Board are working with management to ensure the budget can be achieved and is a responsible budget for our owners.
As a friendly reminder owners who lease their property are required to notify the Tara office with the length of the lease and the emergency contact information of your tenants. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
The Board of Directors are not scheduled to meet until September however your Board is continuing to work with management so ensure that Member satisfaction continues to improve.
I would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
TARA’S MISSION: The mission of Tara Golf & Country Club is to provide an exceptional private country club experience while maintaining the club’s reputation as a financially sound and highly valued community where Members enjoy outstanding golf, vibrant amenities and social camaraderie.

IT’S WONDERFUL TO SEE THE CLUB BUZZING WITH ENERGY AGAIN!
During the 2 weeks in July that we were closed for a property refresh/ deep clean, we did indeed miss seeing everyone’s smiling faces and delightful chatter within the Clubhouse and on the Course! I would like to make a special shout out to our entire Staff who put in the “elbow grease” to make your “home away from home” the sparkling clean, wellorganized and welcoming Club for you to return to.
THE EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION LUNCHEON on July 8th was a wonderful experience! Thanks to all our members who participated and contributed to making this event a success! This event was truly appreciated by our employees who felt the warmth in the members’ kindness as our members prepared, served, and even cleaned up for them on this special day of recognition.
CONCRETE AND FOUNDATION REPAIR
During the coming weeks, you will notice some concrete repair being done. This work will not only improve the appearance of our cart path next to the putting greens and driving range, it will also level up and increase the stability of that grounding so that our members, staff and guests alike have a safe and smooth walking and riding area.
NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE TO OUR MEMBERS
I am happy to let our members know that our Executive Assistant, Jill Orologio, has now obtained her Florida Notary Public and is able to assist for Notary needs. Jill works out of the Tara Administration office and is ready to provide this service as needed.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I want to thank you for your support during my tenure at Tara Golf & Country Club. I have enjoyed serving you and wish you the very best in your present and future!

Please keep an eye on the golf calendar, there are some summer outside events happening.
We are working on the event calendar for the season. Many 9 and dine and 18 and dines are going to be great for getting your friends together for some fun golf and dinner. Games will range from scrambles to play your own golf ball. So many fun opportunities to be had!
Please remember to hydrate properly during your summer fun! It has been a hot summer so far!
• Drink water & add into the mix some electrolytes – stay away from sugary soda.
• Snack on foods that keep the body cooler
• Get a cold towel on the turn, ask the snack bar attendant for one when making the turn.
• When you finish your round, remember to eat something refreshing. Cucumbers have the highest water content of any solid food! Watermelon, strawberries and spinach can also help you stay hydrated after your round.
• If you plan on going into the grille room for lunch after, change your shirt, this will help you cool down without a soaked golf shirt.

The second aerification of the year was a success. The greens, tees, fairways and rough were aerified with 5/8 inch and ¾ inch hollow tines in order relieve soil compaction and remove thatch. The greens were aerified and with the help of warm weather and rain the greens are healing back very nice. The aerification created pore spaces which allows oxygen, water, and nutrients to get to the root zone. Remember, in order to grow good grass it must have deep healthy roots and getting oxygen into the root zone will relieve soil compaction and create new pore spaces for the roots of the plant to grow. The fairways were aerified with ¾ inch hollow tines. The fairways were also verticut and circle mowed to remove thatch from and grain from the turf. A wall to wall fertilization was applied to the golf course to help the grass recover from the aerification. These cultural practices keep the golf course in the best possible condition throughout the year. Also, during the closure, we took the sprigs from the fairway verticut and planted them in outer lining areas to help convert the golf course over to Bimini Bermuda grass.
The following is the aerification schedule for the rest of the summer. • September 9th-11th: The course will be closed and the greens will be verticut and topdressed and the fairways will be aerified. Also an application of pre-emergent fertilizer will be applied to the entire course.

Dear Tara Residents,
It’s the middle of summer and many of us are away from our Florida homes, but there are community volunteers who continue to keep the wheels of progress turning.
We’ve received numerous written complaints about speeding throughout the Tara Golf & Country Club streets, so the CAC decided to take this issue on as its next project. We learned the county reduced the speed limits throughout The Preserve from 30 to 25 mph. That will be our first step. We are already engaging with the Manatee County Traffic Engineering Department, so we will also explore other ways to affect “traffic calming”.
We want to introduce our new Traffic Task Force, a subcommittee of the Community Action Council (CAC). The CAC is the ad-hoc committee that worked on defeating the apartment proposal at Stone River Road and Tara Blvd. We plan to keep you informed and involved as we learn what our options are for our community
If you have any issues around this topic, please use the Vantaca portal (home. resourcepropertymgmt.com) to document your concerns and the Tara Master Association Board will respond in a timely manner.
Sincerely,
Kim Loskota
President Tara Master Association
PS: All Tara residents are invited to attend Tara Master Association Meetings in-person or by Zoom. September 26 at 9:30 AM and October 28 at 3 PM Watch for details in September’s newsletter or go online.
The Tara Master Association (TMA) Landscape Committee is offering monthly workshops to educate the Tara community about Florida gardening principles, including native Florida plants and the Tara protocols for specific neighborhoods. At each meeting we leverage experts from the county, state, and local organizations to save you money and ensure your gardening success.
These seminars are open to all of Tara, which includes the Golf and Country Club (TGCC) and Tara Preserve residents.
Topics are tentative. Speaker suggestions are welcome!

NEW CLASS – BEGINNING MONDAY, AUGUST 5: 6-6:45PM
This class utilizes the principles of the Science of Stretching. This is a mat-based, targeted mobility training method that helps students with stiff backs, locked up hips and tight hamstrings. These classes are hugely popular around the world because they deliver flexibility results quickly. No experience required, super stiff people are always welcome. Whether you are a golfer that needs to stretch more or you’re simply looking to become more mobile and flexible this class will help you. I take a very simple science based approach that is effective for everyone. Students are invited to stay an extra 15 minutes after class for a guided meditation experience.
Please email me with questions or to register for class at: ambermthielen@gmail.com
Hello Tara yoga students and prospective students! Yoga is for everyone!
Yoga is about breath, movement and well being. I can’t remember a time when yoga wasn’t a part of my life. My practice has included studying many different styles and aspects of yoga, leading to my teaching style which largely incorporates using the breath to relax and release tension, gentle stretching poses, balance and strengthening postures, and meditation techniques. My certifications are from Heartwood Yoga Institute.
I teach two different yoga classes at Tara on Wednesdays: Chair Yoga at 10:30 and Yin/Restorative Yoga at 1:30 (classes run on season, October through May.)
In Chair Yoga class, we work on gentle stretching, balance, and strengthening muscles. The first half of the class incorporates warm-ups and upper body poses while sitting in a chair. Standing poses are used in the second half of the class and the chair is utilized to help with balance and stability.
Yin/Restorative Yoga class is practiced entirely on the floor. We warm up the muscles with simple stretches, and use mats, bolsters, and blankets to gently “hold” the body in positions that will gradually stretch, open, and relax muscles releasing tension. Mediation can be included to enhance relaxation.
Looking forward to seeing you in class this fall!

JANUARY 10: LEST SHE FORGET by Lisa Malice FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS
Greetings members! Many exciting projects are in the works by the House Committee this year. We want to share our ongoing plans to beautify, modernize, and welcome you to our wonderful club.
New updated front doors have been ordered for the Clubhouse. We hope to have them delivered and installed by November. To enhance our brand new doors, plans are in the making for the front of the club landscaping to be beautified. We hope to proceed with this project once the irrigation system upgrade has been completed.
Final bids are being received for the remodeling of the three front clubhouse bathrooms. These much-needed facelifts should be completed sometime this summer.
House Committee members have been receiving positive feedback from members on Chef’s new menus and the high quality of meals. Members are also commenting they are pleased with the service, friendliness, and professionalism of our staff.
And, after many months of planning, a fantastic design has been approved by the house committee and we are diligently working to prepare a presentation of our club Refresh project to members and the Board of Directors. Stay tuned for renderings to be posted so all members may fully envision our concept.
Happy Summer to All,
