WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN AN ASSOCIATION?

Joining an organized Tara Golf Association gives you:

• The ability to play with different people each week and maybe meet a new friend along the way.

• A guaranteed spot to play if signed up on time for the weekly event.

• The ability to qualify for inter-club (if offered) events at other facilities in the area.

A USGA-GHIN handicap is needed to play, but it allows you to compete on a level playing field at home or away.

For any questions concerning each of the Associations and its requirements, please contact the Association President. This information is available on the Tara website.

When the horn sounds, it is mandatory that you discontinue play and seek shelter!

Shelters are located on hole #6, between #9 & #10 (pool house), hole #15, and the clubhouse. When one of the shelters is not available, seek:

**ALL CLEAR: ALTERNATING SHORT BLASTS

HOW TO PLAY GOLF IN FOUR HOURS

Slow play affects everyone playing behind you. A conscious effort to play in a timely manner will make golf more enjoyable for everyone. Playing ready golf will greatly increase the speed of play and will not interfere with your fellow golfers.

• Be ready to play when it is your turn; have your club selected and ready

• Keep up with the group in front of you

• Players should watch each other’s shots to help locate the balls quickly

• Be efficient with pre-shot routines

• Take only one practice swing

• Hit your ball before helping others search for theirs

• Limit the search for any lost golf ball to 5 minutes

• No hunting balls in the environmentally sensitive area on #15

• Enter the bunkers on the low side close to your golf ball, try not to walk through the entire bunker

• Walk briskly and directly to your golf ball

• When walking to your golf ball, please take sand and an extra club so you do not have to go back to the cart

• Assist your Guests with the hole layouts, danger and yardages

• Allow faster groups to play through if you are not keeping up with the group in front

The Snowball Effect:

If each player in your foursome contributes to a 15 second delay per hole, your round of golf will take 18 minutes longer to play. Please remember that you are not the only one who is playing golf. Please pay attention to others and your time.

Walking:

You may request 9-hole walk time if there is no shotgun start. Walking for straight tee times will start at 3PM. Walking for crossover times will start at 4PM.
