The Orender Service Award was created in honor of the man who founded Hampton Golf, Mr. MG Orender. Back in 1999, MG saw a need in the golf industry for a management company that does more than just manage but provides a level of care, skill, and service that is unmatched. Hampton Golf was therefore established, and the goals and values that started it all in 1999 are the same goals and values we have today. Please congratulate our most recent Orender Service Award recipients listed below!
Damian Rose , Panther Run Golf Club
James Desanges , Panther Run Golf Club

Construction and opening Superintendent TJ Kemp, who served Astor Creek since June 2022, recently accepted a new opportunity. TJ leaves Astor Creek with a reputation of remarkable playing surfaces beyond its years for a new facility. He leaves tough shoes to fill, but we are confident in the new incoming Superintendent, Carlos Rodriquez. Please join us in welcoming Carlos when we host an event shortly after he starts, allowing everyone to meet and officially welcome him to our family.
Carlos fell in love with golf as a child when he would check course conditions with his dad at Eastpointe Country Club on the weekends, where his father was the assistant superintendent. Carlos attended South Fork High School in Stuart, FL, where he was part of the horticulture program for three years and worked weekends at Eastpointe. Carlos then attended Florida Gateway College in Lake City, earning a degree in Golf Course Operations. After college, Carlos worked at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando before accepting the position of Assistant Superintendent at The Breakers Rees Jones Course in West Palm Beach. For the past six years, Carlos has served as the Assistant Superintendent at Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windermere, FL, recognized as one of America’s most prestigious private communities. Carlos recently completed oversight of a full course renovation at Isleworth, including installing new Bimini Bermuda fairways, tees and TifEagle Bermuda greens, the same turf products used at Astor Creek. Carlos is excited about this new opportunity, which will bring him closer to his family. A passionate Orlando City Soccer Club supporter and avid golfer, Carlos looks forward to the next chapter of his career.
Derek Pitts is the Second Assistant Golf Professional at Astor Creek Golf & Country Club. He graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Business Management and holds a PGA Class A certification. His previous experience includes positions at Sakonnet Golf Club, Country Club of Fairfield, Riomar Country Club, and Ekwanok Country Club.
At Astor Creek, he has implemented several programs to enhance Member engagement: Sunday Skins, Saturday Stableford, Thursday Night Nine-Hole Skins, Play With the Staff, Mixed Team Championship, Men’s & Women’s Member-Guest and Season-Long Staff Match Play.
These events have received positive feedback from Members, and Derek looks forward to refining them while introducing new opportunities for engagement in the coming seasons.
Shannon decided to take on the social media role because of a genuine love for it and an understanding of its power. She recognized how important it is to have a strong social media presence to keep the community connected, especially since Astor Creek is a newer course. It’s exciting for her to share the beauty of the course, highlight the community, and show what the future holds for the club.
Her favorite part of the job is connecting with people. Whether it’s Members who are excited about upcoming events or tournaments, potential Members eager to explore what Astor Creek has to offer, or even the public commenting online about how great the course and Team are, it’s truly rewarding for Shannon to be able to engage with so many people in different ways.
Nine and Dine events grew in attendance this quarter! As the number of Residents in Astor Creek increases, so does event participation. We are excited to host these Nine and Dine events once a month! Each includes 9 holes of golf, dinner and a talented musician.

Northland Country Club ranked #3 in golf.com magazine. Props to NCC!
“Situated high above Lake Superior, this is one of the more stunning and surprising courses on this list to play. Putts that experienced golfers read as breaking X feet actually break twice that much, such is the invisible pull of the lake. Donald Ross renovated the course in 1927 and in his vast portfolio of courses, this remains one of his most distinctive efforts.”
GM Darrin Bell presenting Club Mechanic, Chad Alaspa with his certificate and $500 prize for being chosen. Chad is a hard-working, innovative and industrious man! He helps keep all of our equipment to care for the course in its tip-top shape and does it every day with a smile and positive attitude. Chad has mastered the artful balance of safety and fun in the shop and we appreciate him for all of his efforts!

Pickleball is thriving at Tennessee National! Since opening in January, the courts have been jam-packed. We are incredibly proud of our Member, Mike Lucas, who has led popular beginner and intermediate clinics, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all players. Our 80s Prom Murder Mystery was a huge success! The clubhouse was transformed into a neon-drenched 80s Prom where Members fully immersed themselves in their characters, creating a night of thrilling mystery and fantastic costumes. A big thank you to our Member, Marie Franklin, for organizing the event. This event was a testament to Tennessee National’s vibrant community. We are thrilled to announce the official launch of our bakery! This exciting addition is the culmination of our talented Pastry Chef, Sue Tobin. Sue attended the Culinary Institute of America and even owned her own bakery for over 14 years. Sue is exceptional, from delectable dessert specials and fresh pastries in our coffee shop to custom creations for our Members’ special occasions. We are incredibly fortunate to have her on our Team.
