Starter motor, general

The starter motor is mounted in the flywheel housing on the left side of the engine block. The starter motor relay is "live connected" which means that the relay is directly connected to battery voltage.

Removal

1 Disconnect power to the engine. 2 Remove the heat shield.

Undo the starter motor cable connections.

3 Remove the starter motor.

4 Fit the starter motor. 5 Install the starter motor cable connections.

6 Install the heat shield. 7 Reconnect battery voltage to the engine.
