4Checking coolant level

Check the coolant level in the header tank. This has to be checked when the engine is cold. Remove the cap of the filler neck on the heat exchanger.

Warning!

Never open the cap on the header tank when the engine is at operating temperature.

5Coolant level

The level of the coolant must be at the lower edge of the filler neck.

6Topping up coolant

If necessary, top up. The internal cooling system can be filled with a mixture of anti-freeze (40 %) and tap water (60 %) or with a special coolant. For specification, see page 72.

Caution!

Never fill the cooling system with sea water or brackish water.
