MOORING, BEACHING, LAUNCHING
Before tilting up, leave the outboard motor in the running position for one minute after stopping the engine to drain the water from inside the engine.
Stop the engine and disconnect the fuel hose from the outboard motor before tilting the outboard motor.
To raise the outboard motor out of the water while the engine is stopped and the boat is moored, or for maximum clearance when beaching or launching, use the power tilt switch on the engine pan to tilt the outboard motor up as far as it will go. Move the tilt lock lever to the LOCK position, and then gently lower the outboard motor until the lever contacts the stern bracket. Use the power tilt switch to fully shorten the trim rods. To lower the outboard motor, tilt up using the power tilt switch, then move the tilt lock lever to the FREE position, and then lower the outboard motor to the desired position.
