OPERATING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS continued

Park machine at least 50 feet (15 meters) away from other equipment and in a cleared area. In the event of a fire, this distance will minimize the chance of the fire spreading to other equipment. Before leaving operator's cab, apply the parking brake and lower the attachment onto the ground. If out of the operator's cab for an extended period shut the machine off.

When parking the machine:

• Park on level ground. • Do not park on a hillside or incline. • Lower attachment onto level ground. • Engage the parking brake.

CAUTION

PRESSURIZED HYDRAULIC TANK. Before servicing any hydraulic components, vent hydraulic tank. Refer to SECTION 2 of this manual for VENTING THE HYDRAULIC TANK procedure.

• Stop the engine and vent the hydraulic tank.

VENTING THE HYDRAULIC TANK procedure. • Release pilot system pressure by performing the following steps: 1. Close both doors. Turn key switch to ON position. Do not start the engine. Press pilot reset switch.

Complete either steps 2A or 2B. 2A.Fully apply brake foot pedal 50 times or more. 2B.Turn rear differential switch ON and hold front differential lock switch ON for 30 seconds. While waiting, pump brake foot pedal at least 10 times. 3. Pressure may remain in the system after completing all of the above steps. Use caution when loosening hydraulic connections. For additional information, refer to RELEASE PILOT SYSTEM PRESSURE in SECTION 5 of the SERVICE MANUAL.

BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH

• Turn the battery disconnect switch (1) off if the machine is to be parked for an extended period of time (Example - overnight). When travelling on public roads, use accessory lights (when installed) and other cautionary devices to provide operators of other vehicles warning of your approach. Ensure your machine meets all regulatory requirements. When transporting the machine watch that enough clearance is available on both sides and above the machine or any of its attachments to avoid contact with power or telephone lines, bridge structures, etc.
