DANGER

WARNING Unguarded rotating and moving engine components. Risk of serious injury – danger to life! • Take special care when working on a running engine.

Engine noise above 85 dB (A). Risk of damage to hearing! • Wear ear protectors.

WARNING Compressed air Risk of injury! • Do not direct compressed-air jet at persons. • Wear protective goggles / safety mask and ear protectors.

Intercooler – Checking condensate drain line for coolant discharge and obstruction

1. Check drain line for water discharge and obstruction when the engine is running idle. 2. If no air emerges, remove condensate drain line and blow out with compressed air. 3. Replace obstructed drain line by new one. 4. Install condensate drain line. 5. If a large amount of coolant is continuously discharged, the intercooler is leaking. Con‐tact Service.

Emergency measures prior to engine start with a leaking intercooler

1. Remove injectors (→ Page 79). 2. Bar engine manually (→ Page 66). 3. Bar engine with starting system to blow out combustion chambers (→ Page 67). 4. Install injectors (→ Page 80).
