MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICA TION TURBOCHARGER
The engine turbocharger operates very high speed, temperatures and pressure. T urbo bearing lubrication critical, particularly for a newly installed turbo one which has not been operated for a period time and all oil has drained from the bearing and shaft surfaces. T o avoid turbocharger bearing failure, the following instructions are recommended:
• Start the engine least every days ensure turbo bearing Operate engine low idle for least three minutes before increasing RPM driving the
• the engine has not been run for more than days, turbo pre - lube procedure necessary:
Remove turbo air intake duct and oil line connection
Fill oil inlet fitting overflow with clean engine oil.
Using fingers compressor carefully spin and wiggle the turbo shaft distribute the oil over all bearing
Reconnect air intake duct and again fill turbo oil port overflow , connect oil line and start engine.
Operate engine low idle for least three minutes before increasing RPM driving the vehicle.
