ehicles equipped with a 2010 emission compliant engine have exhaust aftertreatment system which includes a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and a Conventional TRU Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The Aftertreatment DPF takes the place the standard muf fler , and reduces particulate emissions into the atmosphere. Soot and other particulate matter are collected a filter where eventually oxidized using a regeneration process. V ehicles equipped with a Aftertreatment DPF require the use - O Premium Plus (or VDSspecification high performance diesel engine oil and Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel. W2030326

V

Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM)

The ACM controls the following components the exhaust aftertreatment system:

Aftertreatment DEF Dosing Unit

Aftertreatment DEF T ank Heater V alve

Aftertreatment DEF Line Heaters

Aftertreatment DEF Pump

Aftertreatment DEF Return V alve

The ACM also monitors the following values the exhaust aftertr eatment system:

Aftertreatment DEF Dosing Pressure

Aftertreatment DEF T ank T emperature

Aftertreatment DEF T ank Level

Aftertreatment DPF Inlet/Outlet T emperature

Aftertreatment DEF T ank Level Sensor

Aftertreatment DPF Dif ferential Pressure

• NOX Sensors

The ACM a stand alone module. Depending your configuration may mounted part the DEF tank (as shown above) a bracket near the DEF tank.

Caution

During the Aftertreatment DPF the exhaust gas temperature will NOT park the vehicle with the exhaust outlet near flammable objects such that could damaged elevated exhaust gas

Caution

the vehicle a location that may hazardous when DPF Regeneration begins close proximity flammable materials gases, inside parked under flammable the DPF Regeneration should stopped (if DPF Regeneration stopped the vehicle operator , must initiated a later time when the vehicle a safer DPF Regenerations that are stopped and never restarted a later however , will require that the vehicle taken authorized Mack T ruck dealer have the Aftertreatment Regeneration manually started with special service

Note: During vehicle operation, idle speed may increase when the vehicle stopped a traf fic light maintain heat the DPF for passive regeneration and urea

There are two types Aftertreatment DPF Regeneration: Passive regeneration and Parked

Passive regeneration occurs when the exhaust gas within the aftertreatment system hot enough remove soot without injecting additional fuel into the dpf chassis equipped with a US07 aftertreatment DPFs needed active that included this injection W ith the addition the SCR system active regenerations are longer needed for

Parked Regeneration

The Aftertreatment DPF Regeneration system selfmonitoring. Under certain duty cycles driver action needed perform a parked regeneration. When driver action needed perform a parked regeneration, icon the top the DPF Smart switch will illuminate notify the vehicle operator . The DPF Smart switch allows the vehicle operator either stop start regeneration. (Certain conditions must met, however , before regeneration can manually started.)

Parked regeneration allows the operator start and/or stop the regeneration manually when the vehicle parked and the engine The operator notified that a regeneration needed when the icons the DPF Smart switch The operator should perform the regeneration soon

Please refer the instructions below how use the DPF Smart switch for parked regenerations.

Move the vehicle a safe apply the park brake and allow the engine
