V. OPERATING INFORMATION

1. Check the engine oil level. Do not operate the engine when oil is below the low mark on dipstick.

2. Check the coolant level in the radiator and the coolant overflow reservoir.

3. Check the hydraulic oil reservoir level.

4. Check cooling air intake screens.

5. Check engine drive belt.

6. Drain fuel/water separator .

7. Check the Filter Minder®

8. Check for any oil or fuel leaks and correct if needed.

Starting The Engine

Your Hagie 204 Detasseler has been equipped with a lockout (battery disconnect) switch, The switch is located toward the rear of the machine on the left hand engine hood (fig. 5.1).

This switch disengages the battery from the engine therefore cutting all electrical power to the engine. With the switch in the disengaged position it can be padlocked to detour theft and accidental starting. It can not be locked in the engaged position.

Be sure that the switch is in the engaged position before starting the engine.

NOTE:

Start engine from operator’s seat only. When running engine in a building, be sure there is adequate ventilation.

Do not use starting fluid when starting an engine. The use of starting fluid will cause engine damage.
