Operational State Diagram
OFF
The DCS is powered down and nothing is displayed. Machine switched on (Power-up switch activated)
Methane Sensor Warm Up
Pre Run Check
If no further action is taken, the DCS will switch itself off.
The operator may press UP to allow the engine to be started again, without having to wait for the DCS to restart and the Methane Sensor to warm up again.
Ready to Start
Engine Running
The DCS will wait for some time after the engine is stopped, displaying information for the operator.
Engine Stopped Fuel Cut Shutdown
Manual Shutdown
In all cases except Engine Running, the DCS will power itself down after a predetermined amount of time. This is to ensure the internal battery is not needlessly depleted. Before the DCS may continue, the Methane Sensor must warm up.
The sensors are checked to determine if it is safe for the engine to start.
The DCS waits to see if the operator starts the engine.
While the engine is running, the DCS continually monitors the sensors to ensure it is operating safely. If the engine must be stopped, the DCS cuts fuel to the engine. The DCS then waits to see if the engine stops.
If the engine doesn’t stop within a pre-determined time, the DCS instructs the operator to take manual action to stop the engine.
