Switching the electrical system on and off

The electrical system is switched on with keyswitch (32, Fig. 2-35:). Insert key into key-switch and turn to the right.

Battery main switch

The battery main switch ( Fig. 2-36:) is installed above the batteries in the pedestal. With the battery main switch, the entire electrical system is disconnected from the batteries. When the switch is in "OFF" position, the battery main switch ensures

! that the electric motor is not switched on by unauthorized persons

! that the batteries are not discharged inadvertently

The two switch positions have the following meaning:

I = ON

0 = OFF

Never switch the battery main switch to "OFF" when the electric motor is running. Peak voltages occurring then might cause irreparable damage to electrical components. This switches the electric motor off automatically.
