Shutdown procedures
There are several methods of shutting down the feeder breaker.
1. Allow the machine to run until the hopper is empty. Continue to run the machine until all material that has been carried back into the return line has been cleaned out.
IMPORTANT! If material is very wet or sticky, it is recommended that the return line be flushed with water and the conveyor be allowed to run and clean out the return line before shutting the machine down.
To shutdown the feeder breaker in “REGULAR” mode:
2. Engage the “PICK BKR/CONV STOP” pushbutton located on the starter enclosure. This will stop the pick break motor and the pump motor.
3. Turn the circuit breaker reset switch to the “OFF” position .
The machine can also be shutdown in emergency situations using a panic strip, the “E-STOP” button on the starter enclosure, the pull cord, or the “EMERGENCY STOP” button on the cable connection box. Activating the panic strip, the “E-STOP” button on the starter enclosure, or the pull cord will open the master control relay, “MCR”. Power will still be on the machine and the machine can be restarted using normal starting procedures. If the “EMERGENCY STOP” button on the cable connection box is activated, the circuit breaker at the power center must be reset before the machine can be restarted.
To shutdown the feeder breaker using a panic strip:
There are three (3) panic strips located on the feeder breaker: one at the operator’s station and one at the secondary valve bank on the right side of the machine and one on the left side of the machine beside of the hydraulic oil tank. Striking any panic strip with a small amount of force will shutdown the machine.
To shutdown the feeder breaker using the “E-STOP” button:
There is an emergency stop, “E-STOP”, button located on the cover of the starter enclosured. Push the “E-STOP” button to shutdown the machine.
To shutdown the feeder using the pull cord:
There is an emergency pull cord located over the hopper. Pulling this cord will shutdown the machine.
To shutdown the feeder using the “EMERGENCY STOP” button:
The “EMERGENCY STOP” button is located on the cable connection box. Striking the button with a small amount of force will shutdown the machine. ______________________________________________________________

3. Turn the “OFF/MANUAL/AUTO” selector switch located on the cover of starter enclosure to the “MANUAL” position.
4. Set main circuit breaker located on the door of the starter enclosure by first moving the circuit breaker lever to the “RESET” position and then to the “ON” position.

6. Lift up the neutral start valve handle guard all the way back so that the guard will not fall on the operator’s hands.
The machine can now be trammed.
